Chapter 55.1

Editor: Princess

The employees at Deep Blue Technology recently noticed something new.

—Workaholic President Fu actually got off work on time!

The company group chat was buzzing with discussions, and the most popular guess was that President Fu was in love.

Pi Xiu also complained in their small chat group: [I just feel like Shen Ge has been acting weird lately.]

Li Fengyu: [You mean how Shen Ge has been leaving work on time?]

Liang Chen: [Yeah, something’s definitely off.]

Pi Xiu: [Right?! I went to talk to him about something yesterday, and he actually zoned out! Zoned out, my god! Have you ever seen Shen Ge zone out while working?!]

Li Fengyu: [Never.]

Liang Chen: [Never.]

Pi Xiu: [He’s not actually in love, is he?! shocked.JPG]

Li Fengyu: [Shen Ge isn’t exactly young anymore. Is him falling in love that shocking to you?]

Liang Chen: [Our company’s about to hit its seven-year anniversary.]

Pi Xiu: [Yeah, and?]

Li Fengyu: [Yeah, and?]

Liang Chen: [There’s gonna be an event for the anniversary. If Shen Ge really is in a relationship, there’s no way he wouldn’t bring his partner.]

Pi Xiu: [Great idea!]

Li Fengyu: [66666]

Fu Shen, the very topic of their gossip, once again left work on time and went home.

In the whole company, the only person who knew he was currently living with Tang Zhou was his driver.

Of course, the driver didn’t dare say a word or ask any questions.

Ever since that night when they reached an agreement, Tang Zhou had been leading a few like-minded partners on a tough but fulfilling entrepreneurial journey.

However no matter how busy he was, he always made it home in time for dinner. And because of that, Fu Shen got into the habit of cooking dinner at home.

They didn’t talk much, but they had an unspoken understanding.

After finishing his dinner, Tang Zhou said seemingly casually, “It’s been a while since I had sweet and sour ribs.”

Fu Shen’s expression didn’t change, but Tang Zhou knew he had taken note of it.

Sure enough, the next night, there was a plate of sweet and sour ribs on the table.

Tang Zhou felt a quiet joy at Fu Shen’s thoughtfulness.

He had hoped to continue his relationship with Fu Shen after returning to this dream world, but because of their current awkward situation and his consideration for Fu Shen’s emotions, he hadn’t been able to take things further.

But after living together for this long, it almost felt like he was back in the real world. Because even though this version of Fu Shen was a little colder and spoke even less than the real one, at his core, he was still the same Fu Shen. Someone who loved sweets, was gentle, and always considerate.

He was just wearing the mask of President Fu.

Tang Zhou tossed and turned in bed, unwilling to let their relationship stay lukewarm forever. So, he grabbed a project proposal, put on the pajamas Fu Shen had bought for him, and knocked on the master bedroom door.

Fu Shen had just finished showering, his wet hair sticking to his temples. Water droplets slid along his perfectly defined jawline, traced the curve of his long neck, and disappeared beneath his collar.

Having been “an old married couple” with Fu Shen for years, Tang Zhou’s eyes drifted over his Adam’s apple, and his heartbeat quickened slightly.

If this were before, faced with such an attractive sight, he would’ve already pounced on Fu Shen for a kiss.

“What is it?” Fu Shen’s cool gaze immediately killed Tang Zhou’s impulse.

Tang Zhou, keeping a straight face, said, “I have something I need to discuss with you.”

“En.” Fu Shen gestured for him to continue.

Tang Zhou: “…Right here?”

Fu Shen: “Wait a moment.”

Then, right in front of him, he shut the door.

Tang Zhou: “……”

Heartache.

Fu Shen casually wiped his wet hair with a towel before opening the door. “Study or living room?”

Tang Zhou went straight to the couch in the living room, handed him the proposal, and said, “President Fu, please have a look.”

His tone was distant, with a hint of grievance.

Fu Shen: ?

Fu Shen didn’t understand Tang Zhou’s sudden shift in mood, so he focused on the document instead. After carefully reading through it, he asked, “What’s the issue?”

Tang Zhou lowered his gaze, not answering the question. Instead, he asked, “Am I bothering you by staying here?”

His long, thick eyelashes cast a shadow, and his pale lips pressed together slightly, looking like a wronged child confiding in someone he trusted.

Fu Shen replied instinctively, “No.”

“Oh.” Tang Zhou still looked disappointed, as if Fu Shen had wronged him.

Fu Shen’s grip on the thin document tightened. “Why are you asking this?”

Lately, Tang Zhou had been acting completely differently from what Fu Shen had always known. He couldn’t figure him out, making it impossible to predict his next move.

Tang Zhou lifted his gaze. Under the living room lights, his light brown eyes shone like glimmering gemstones. His voice was deliberately lowered, soft—somewhere between a pout and cautious hesitation.

“Do you hate me?”
