Chapter 52.1

The photos that hit Tang Zhou snapped him awake instantly.
In front of him was a study that felt both familiar and strange. Staring at the old man before him, whose face was filled with deep anger and disappointment, and then glancing at the photos scattered on the ground of him and Fu Shen “kissing”, he suddenly realized something unbelievable.
—He was back in the dreamworld.
Seeing Tang Zhou staring blankly at the photos on the floor, Tang Zhihua sighed inside, however his face darkened as he said, “Explain yourself. What exactly is going on?”
In the real world, Tang Zhou was pampered and loved by Fu Shen, and his word was law at Hua Yue. It had been ages since he had to deal with this kind of nonsense.
Suddenly, he chuckled softly, bent down to pick up the photos, dusted them off, and took a closer look. “Not bad. Pretty well taken.”
The composition and lighting captured a kind of smoldering intimacy, like a spark ready to ignite.
Looking at the handsome profile in the photos, he couldn’t wait to go see Fu Shen.
His sudden shift caught Tang Zhihua completely off guard. “Ah Zhou…”
“Grandpa.” Tang Zhou interrupted him, “Are you using these photos to interrogate me because you want me to give up the company I painstakingly rebuilt?”
Tang Zhihua squinted slightly. “If you agree to get married, I won’t care who you’re with.”
“You know I can’t stand Tang Zhen.” Tang Zhou said casually. “Cheating after marriage? That’s not something I can do. I’ll just step away.”
The current Tang Group was something he had poured his heart and soul into rebuilding, and in the past, he might have felt unwilling to let it go, but after leading Hua Yue for so many years, he had no interest in this barely-surviving Tang Group anymore.
Sure, he could help the Tang Group slowly regain its former glory, but why should he?
He couldn’t be bothered to deal with this mess anymore. He was in a dreamworld, so why waste time worrying about a company? Wouldn’t it be better to focus on dating Fu Shen?
After throwing out those words, he didn’t wait for Tang Zhihua’s response and walked straight out of the study.
Uncle Fang who was standing outside the study, had a conflicted look on his face as he tried to stop him, however he just gave a faint smile. “Uncle Fang, take care of Grandpa. I probably won’t be coming back much from now on.”
He was already thirty now, and the top priority was to finally get into a relationship.
He pocketed the photos and drove off.
Because he had spent so much on rebuilding the Tang Group, he didn’t have much money now. The car he drove wasn’t even worth 100,000 yuan, and his clothes were no different from those of an ordinary working-class person. Compared to before, he looked downright shabby.
He pulled out an old, well-worn phone from his pocket. Then after contacting a few trusted confidants from the company, he subconsciously started driving toward the home he used to share with Fu Shen. But then he realized—he didn’t have a home anymore.
To cover the mess Tang Zhen had made, he’d sold off all his properties, shares, and assets. Other than the old Tang family house, he had nowhere to go.

As night fell, Tang Zhou pulled over by the roadside. Then after thinking for a while, he decided to send a message to Pi Xiu.
In the real world, he and Pi Xiu were already pretty close. But here, they were barely acquaintances, which made him hesitate.
However Pi Xiu was outgoing and warm-hearted, making him the best person to contact.
Tang Zhou: [Is Fu Shen at the company?]
Pi Xiu: [Tang Ge?! You’re looking for Shen Ge?]
Tang Zhou: [Yeah.]
Pi Xiu: [Tang Ge , what do you need Shen Ge for?]
Although Tang Zhou had worked as Fu Shen’s assistant before, they hadn’t kept in touch much after he started rebuilding the Tang Group. So with him suddenly asking about Fu Shen now, of course Pi Xiu wasn’t going to spill so easily.
Tang Zhou: [It’s personal.]
Pi Xiu: [Why don’t you just go to him directly?]
Tang Zhou rubbed the phone case absentmindedly. He wanted to, but he felt a pang of hesitation. Besides, his relationship with Fu Shen wasn’t exactly good right now.
He didn’t reply, but then another message came from Pi Xiu: [I just asked. Shen Ge’s at the company.]
Tang Zhou: [Thanks.]
He chuckled softly to himself. His memory hadn’t failed him.
In the dream world, Fu Shen was a total workaholic. Unless he was going home to sleep, he was always busy with work. He almost never left the office before 9 p.m.
He adjusted the direction of his car.

In the cool-toned office, Fu Shen sat in front of his computer, reviewing documents. When a message notification chimed on his phone, he didn’t check it immediately. Instead, he finished reading the document before picking up his phone.
Pi Xiu: [Shen Ge! Tang Ge just asked me if you were at the office. I didn’t think much and said you were. That shouldn’t be a problem, right?]
Fu Shen raised an eyebrow: [What’s the problem?]
Pi Xiu: [Back when he was your assistant, you gave him such a hard time. Now that he’s with the Tang Group, could he be coming to settle the score?]
It had to be said, Pi Xiu’s imagination was wild. It was a shame he wasn’t writing scripts.
Fu Shen: [A hard time?]
Pi Xiu: [Uh… He said it’s personal. What personal business could you two have? If he really wanted to talk to you, why not ask you directly?]
Fu Shen tapped his fingers on the desk twice, expressionless as he replied: [Get back to work.]
Then he ignored it.
But compared to earlier, his reading speed slowed down significantly, and he kept glancing at his watch.
When the clock struck 9, an hour had passed since Pi Xiu contacted him. He frowned.
Then as if something crossed his mind, he gave instructions to the security team, telling them not to stop anyone looking for him.
The security team was completely confused.
However after waiting a bit longer with no movement outside his office, Fu Shen started to suspect that Pi Xiu was messing with him.
He put the document down and leaned back in his chair for a while. Suddenly, he opened his eyes, shut down his computer, locked the door, and strode out of the office in one smooth motion.
It was late autumn, and although Jiang City wasn’t freezing, the temperature was quite low.
He lingered for a moment before getting into the car. Then he told the driver, “Take me home.”
The driver acknowledged him respectfully then headed toward Fu Shen’s residence.
