Chapter 51.2

“Chairman, there’s news!”
Tang Zhihua’s voice was hoarse. “What is it?”
Uncle Fang looked at Tang Zhihua with a pained expression, hesitating as if he couldn’t bring himself to say it.
Tang Zhihua slammed his cane down. “Speak!”
“The investigation team has confirmed that Young Master Tianyang… indeed transferred a large amount of assets to offshore accounts. He even transferred funds to another account, totaling over a hundred million.”
Tang Zhihua suddenly looked ten years older. He asked weakly, “Whose account did he transfer it to?”
“An account belonging to the former Longxin Real Estate…”
“Longxin Real Estate again? Didn’t it go bankrupt? How could Tianyang still be involved with them?” Tang Zhihua couldn’t make sense of it.
He could understand if Tang Zhen wanted to invest in real estate, but why Longxin, which had already gone bankrupt? How could he still be involved with Tang Tianyang?
Was it just because it was his uncle? Did the Tang family’s money really go straight to outsiders?
Uncle Fang remained silent, equally bewildered.
Tang Tianyang’s actions had amounted to serious embezzlement of the company’s assets, and it was now a criminal offense.
Tang Zhihua had already expended his last ounce of influence and reputation trying to defend Tang Zhen previously, so this time, there was nothing he could do.
Meanwhile, Tang Tianyang couldn’t understand how what he had been doing, his actions that he had carried out with such secrecy, had been discovered so quickly.

Because the Tang family had been shaken twice now, the company’s decline became even more evident.
Tang Zhihua had no choice but to come out of retirement and personally hold a shareholders’ meeting, hoping to steer the company back on course.
However due to Tang Zhen and Tang Tianyang’s reckless decisions, the Tang Group had taken a critical hit. If it couldn’t correct its course, it risked a total collapse.
“Dad! Dad! You have to save Tianyang!” Tang Zhen burst into Tang Zhihua’s study, his eyes red with desperation. “Are you just going to let him rot in there?”
“What do you expect me to do?” Tang Zhihua’s worn face was etched with fatigue. “I’ve cleaned up your mess, and now your son’s mess is yours to clean. Isn’t that what being a father is about?”
Tang Zhen: “…..” If he had the ability to do it himself, would he be here begging the old man?
Ignoring Tang Zhihua’s reproach, he pressed on, “Are you really going to let the Tang family have no heir?”
Tang Zhihua: “A few years in prison won’t prevent him from having children when he gets out.”
“But…… prison life is hard, and what if Tianyang can’t handle it?”
Seeing Tang Zhen’s pitiful appearance only fueled Tang Zhihua’s irritation. “If you’d shown half this concern for Ah Zhou that you show for Tang Tianyang, we wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Tang Zhen protested, “You care about Tang Zhou and I care about Tianyang. Isn’t that balanced?”
“…..”
Tang Zhihua didn’t want to see him anymore. “Get out.”
“But Tianyang—”
A fountain pen flew towards him, hitting him directly. “Get out!”
To Tang Zhihua, everything traced back to Tang Tianyang’s mother. Tang Zhen had been led astray because of her, and Tang Tianyang had followed in her footsteps. Otherwise, why would Tang Zhen and Tang Tianyang be sending money to that “little uncle”?
Tang Zhihua fumed to the point that he felt physical pain, however with the situation as it was, the most important thing was to pull the company back together.
Unfortunately, things only continued to go wrong.
Because before the company chaos was resolved, Tang Zhen was hospitalized with severe injuries, a blow that almost caused the old man himself to collapse.
Age was catching up with him, and the repeated shocks had dulled his mind causing him to have slow responses.
It took him a long moment to understand what was going on, then he finally asked, “How did he get hurt? Is he alright? Which hospital is he in?”
After a frenzied dash to the hospital, Tang Zhihua finally learned that Tang Zhen had been stabbed in the kidney—by a new gardener at his residence.
It took him ages to understand, and still confused, he asked, “Why would a gardener stab him?”
When the stabbing occurred, Tang Zhen’s lover was present, however it was a passing housekeeper who had witnessed the scene and called the police.
Uncle Fang, loyal as ever, explained, “The police are still investigating.”
Tang Zhihua felt as if his soul was drifting out of his body. He asked blankly, “And that woman?”
“She’s a witness and was also taken in for questioning.”
“Oh.”
Thanks to hospital intervention, Tang Zhen survived, however any hope for more descendants was now gone.
Tang Zhihua didn’t take it too seriously. After all, Tang Zhen already had two sons, so at his age, there was no need for him to have any more children.
He initially thought this was just an ordinary assault case, however he could have never imagined that, after the police interrogation, the suspect would reveal something that nearly knocked the life out of him.
As the victim’s family member, Tang Zhihua had the right to know the suspect’s identity and motive.
So when he learned that the suspect was none other than Tang Zhen’s “brother-in-law”, he asked in a weary voice, “Was it for money?”
“That’s part of the reason.”
“What do you mean?”
“He attacked the victim because the victim overheard an argument between him and Ms. Yang.”
“Ms. Yang?” Tang Zhihua was a bit slow to react.
“Yes, the victim’s lover.”
“What argument?”
“He threatened Ms. Yang, saying that if she didn’t pay him, he would expose their relationship.”
Tang Zhihua felt as if he were sinking into quicksand, as he asked blankly, “What kind of relationship?”
“They weren’t siblings. They used to be lovers….”
Tang Zhihua only saw blackness before his eyes, and when he came to, he was lying on a hospital bed with only Uncle Fang beside him.
His first words when he woke up were, “Do a paternity test for Tang Tianyang and Tang Zhen.”
Having been by his side for so many years, Uncle Fang was overcome with grief at seeing him like this, his eyes red as he left to carry out the order.
