Editor: Princess
Lying flat, Xu Ling tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep.
“Stop shaking the bed.” Ning Sheng said. “Are you trying to annoy me to death?”
Xu Ling lay very still and stopped moving.
Three Golden Suns Rising Again Secretly
[AAA Premium Piglet Wholesale]: Don’t bully Ning Ning.
Ling: I really didn’t.
[AAA Premium Piglet Wholesale]: Princess is just verbally tough but soft-hearted. When he told you he was staying out all night, he was actually standing at the dorm door.
[Math is so great, I love math]: That’s right. Ning Ning didn’t even slap you today. He’s really hurt.
[Math is so great, I love math]: I’ll teach him some math competition problems tomorrow to cheer him up.
Ling: Don’t add fuel to the fire. Let me think about what to do.
Early in the morning, Xu Ling got up early and went to the cafeteria to buy breakfast.
When Xu Ling returned, Ning Sheng had just gotten up and finished washing. He was holding a piece of bread in his mouth, absent-mindedly putting on his school uniform.
His gaze was fixed on his social media feed, with only one sleeve of his uniform on, his other hand waving in the air trying to find the sleeve but failing to locate it for quite some time.
Xu Ling walked over and helped lift his uniform.
Ning Sheng was startled for a moment, said nothing, and slowly put on the other sleeve.
Xu Ling glanced at Ning Sheng’s phone screen.
Xu Ling: “…”
Ning Sheng had even added their classmate Bai Ming.
Bai Ming’s latest post happened to be a group photo of the young masters from last night’s concert.
Xu Ling’s hand, which was holding Ning Sheng’s uniform sleeve, tightened, as if he had swallowed a lemon whole, his soul about to wrinkle from the sourness.
“You’re blocking my sunlight.” Ning Sheng said. “Move away.”
Xu Ling: “…”
Xu Ling: “Want breakfast? I bought some for you.”
Ning Sheng: “Not hungry.”
Ning Sheng: “I need to punish myself for your mistake.”
Ning Sheng ignored Xu Ling all day, even their homeroom teacher found it strange.
“What happened to your face and hands?” Their teacher asked as school ended.
“I accidentally… bumped into something.” Ning Sheng said.
Their homeroom teacher: “Did your face hit the ground?”
“Be careful then.” Their teacher said. “Don’t you two usually stick together? If you don’t watch where you’re going, doesn’t Xu Ling watch out for you?”
Ning Sheng: “Hmph.”
Xu Ling: “Thank you for your concern, teacher.”
Xu Ling: “We should go, teacher. If we talk longer, Ning Sheng will run away.”
Ning Sheng met Lu Peng at the staircase and went to the playground with him and the math nerd.
“Shoot like this.” Lu Peng taught him how to play basketball. “Then throw from this angle, apply force with technique.”
Ning Sheng learned it.
“Ning Ning, are you still not talking to Dog Xu?” Lu Peng asked him.
The ball in Ning Sheng’s hand dropped to the ground.
“I’m not ignoring him.” Ning Sheng said. “He’s ignoring me. He’s grown up and is tired of my bad temper.”
Ning Sheng: “I’m older than him. I’ve always been the one to give in.”
“Older what?” Lu Peng said. “Both Dog Xu and I are several months older than you.”
Ning Sheng: “I… I’m more broad-minded than him.”
Lu Peng: “Uh…”
The math nerd made a “shush” gesture to Lu Peng from a distance, and Lu Peng forcefully swallowed his “you’re the least broad-minded” comment.
Xu Ling sat on the stands with a blade of grass between his teeth, his gaze fixed on the basketball court.
Lu Peng had been growing at an alarming rate recently, tall and sturdy. As he taught Ning Sheng how to play ball hands-on, standing close, it made Ning Sheng look even more slender and delicate by comparison.
Xu Ling sighed irritably.
He seemed to have made a mistake about something.
He had foolishly attempted to control his turbulent emotions by creating distance.
The fault wasn’t with Ning Sheng, it was his own heart that was the one in turmoil.
“I’m tired.” Ning Sheng threw the ball to Lu Peng. “I don’t want to play anymore.”
He walked to the water basin at the edge of the field and washed his hands.
A hand reached over, grabbing his wrist, helping him avoid a stream of water.
“You shouldn’t get this wound wet.” Xu Ling said.
“And your paw shouldn’t touch me.” Ning Sheng said.
“Going to the cafeteria or back to the dorm?” Xu Ling followed him. “Let’s go together.”
Xu Ling: “My mom sent me recent photos of Xu Youcai and Pei Qi. Want to see?”
Xu Ling: “Hit me, slap me, say something!”
Lu Peng: “…”
Li Haoyue: “I feel a bit embarrassed.”
Lu Peng: “Just a bit.”
In the dormitory area, the dorm manager and the homeroom teacher were discussing in low voices.
“…That’s how it is. I’m still worried they might be bullying someone in their dorm.” The dorm manager whispered. “Could the three of them be bullying Ning Sheng?”
The homeroom teacher: “That shouldn’t be the case. They seem to have grown up together.”
Two people came noisily from the corridor.
Xu Ling was grabbing Ning Sheng’s collar and pushing him against the wall, even pinching Ning Sheng’s face, forcing him to smile, making Ning Sheng’s cheeks turn red.
The homeroom teacher: “!!!”
The homeroom teacher: “Stop, Xu…”
Xu Ling finally got a hit in return, causing him to pick Ning Sheng up happily and spin him in a half circle.
