Chapter 67.2

At dawn, Ning Sheng opened his eyes, refreshed.

“Dog Xu……” he said, “I want soy milk.”

No one answered.

Oh right, Dog Xu had been locked outside.

Someone knocked on the window twice.

Ning Sheng: “Come in.”

Ning Sheng: “?” The window?

The window was pushed open. Xu Ling, holding a piece of bread in his mouth, climbed through the window, carrying soy milk and buns he’d bought from nearby early that morning.

Ning Sheng: “……”

Xu Ling’s face was lit up with a carefree smile. He jumped down from the windowsill and handed him the plastic bag: “Eat while it’s hot.”

He didn’t seem to care about last night’s incident at all.

As he went to wash up, Xu Ling followed him the whole way.

“That place last time wasn’t as good as what we had in Qing’an Town, so I switched to another shop.” Xu Ling leaned against the bathroom doorway. “Try it and see if it’s decent.”

Ning Sheng: “Oh……”

Dog Xu looked exactly the same as usual, circling around him, asking this and that, treating him with the same intimacy as a friend he’d grown up with.

Ning Sheng sat at the table edge and bit into a bun. It really was delicious.

“I ran around the nearby market, eating at every shop one by one.” Xu Ling sat on the carpet watching him, one hand resting on his knee. “How is it?”

“It’s just……a bun. What do you expect?” Ning Sheng didn’t look at Xu Ling.

“Haha, you like it!” Xu Ling said happily.

“I don’t like it!” Ning Sheng raised his foot to kick, got it halfway up, then put it down.

Xu Ling: “?”

Xu Ling: “……?”

I can’t hit anymore, can’t keep hitting, Ning Sheng thought to himself.

I’ve already knocked his orientation crooked, and that’s completely inappropriate.

Xu Ling waited a long time for that kick that never came, feeling unsatisfied and quite disgusted with himself.

Ning Sheng’s phone on the bedside chimed and rang.

“Should I turn off your alarm?” Xu Ling asked.

“Sure.” Ning Sheng said.

Xu Ling turned off the alarm and also saw some messages.

**[Bai Liang]:** Ning Ning, when are you free?

Xu Ling was already grinding his teeth.

“Hmm? Do I have messages?” Ning Sheng asked.

**[Bai Liang]:** Don’t open the gift yet. Find some time for me to visit you.

**[Bai Liang]:** I’ll explain everything to you in person.

**[Ning]:** Oh.

Xu Ling continued grinding his teeth.

Come on then. If you dare come to the house, there’s a guard dog waiting.

Acting so mysterious. Ning Sheng didn’t even want this gift anymore. It was better to return it.

Anyway, the only thing he wanted right now was a little airplane, and Bai Liang’s small gift box probably couldn’t fit a little airplane.

“Don’t we have an early class today?” Ning Sheng asked.

Ning Sheng: “?”

In the time it took him to reply to a message, Xu Ling had devoured two packs of cookies.

These were cookies he’d just bought, shaped like light bulbs. They were quite cute.

“Tasty?” Ning Sheng asked.

Xu Ling: “Tasty.”

Ning Sheng bought Xu Ling another case.

If it’s tasty, eat more, and stop eating things you shouldn’t.

Having suddenly discovered that his pet dog had developed improper thoughts about him, Ning Sheng began to worry.

Xu Ling was indeed worthy of being his former archenemy. He was always good at causing him trouble.

Dog Xu, when exactly did he start having wicked thoughts about him?

During the morning class, Ning Sheng listed several solutions in his mind, but none seemed very feasible.

He couldn’t just abandon his dog. He’d raised him this big already.

This was a little devil who could play violin, speak French, and do flower arranging!

But……

“This student.” The teacher was discussing business cases and called on Ning Sheng. “Please analyze this.”

Ning Sheng hadn’t been listening to the lecture at all, but that didn’t stop him from glancing at the screen and then seriously analyzing a whole bunch of things for the teacher.

Teacher: “……”

It felt like these students couldn’t be taught anything.

Ning Sheng sat back down and found that Xu Ling had thoughtfully poured him a glass of water—warm water.

Ning Sheng: “……”

Just……really thoughtful, with no sign of any other intentions, if only his hand wasn’t resting on his waist.

Since the water was already poured…… hemight as well drink it. Wasting water wouldn’t be good, Ning Sheng thought to himself.

Before Ning Sheng could figure out what to do, Xu Ling acted first.

During the brief rest time after lunch and before returning to the dorm, Xu Ling found another sweet drama for him to watch.

This episode’s plot was about reunion after long separation and reconciliation, so sweet that the comments section was full of people howling with excitement.

“Good?” Ning Sheng asked.

Xu Ling: “It’s good.”

Ning Sheng bought him ten years of membership and found fifty similar dramas for Xu Ling.

If it’s good, watch more. And stop watching things you shouldn’t!

Xu Ling: “?”

Ning Sheng sat at his desk flipping through math books. After waiting thirty seconds, he heard Xu Ling bump into the table.

Ning Sheng: “……”

However, the entire afternoon passed relatively peacefully.

In the evening, Ning Sheng planned to kick Xu Ling out of the room as usual.

Until he figured out a solution, he planned to keep doing this.

“Still angry?” Xu Ling asked helplessly.

Ning Sheng: “Furious.”

“Because I didn’t listen properly to your lesson?” Xu Ling asked.

Ning Sheng: “Yes!”

“Won’t giving you little chicks and little potted plants make up for it?” Xu Ling asked.

Ning Sheng sneered: “This young master has grown up. Who still cares about those little trinkets?”

“I give up on you.” Xu Ling said helplessly. “Fine then.”

Ning Sheng: “?”

Xu Ling put the glued-together teaching rod into Ning Sheng’s hands.

“Teacher Ning, please teach me again.” Xu Ling said. “If you insist on teaching, I promise to listen carefully this time. Don’t be angry anymore.”

Ning Sheng: “……”

Ning Sheng: “………”

Help me.

Who insisted on teaching you this stuff?!
