Chapter 23.2

Early Monday morning, Ning Sheng rummaged through his drawer and pulled an unwritten language test paper out.
Ning Sheng: “……”
“You forgot to do it?” Xu Ling’s voice sounded somewhat smug.
“I forgot to take it home.” Ning Sheng said in response.
The language teacher was extremely strict and fierce, usually starting with half a class of standing as punishment, and with class about to start, it didn’t seem practical to do the homework now.
Standing for half a class would be tiring, so Ning Sheng decided to just raise his hand and say he had a disability when he was a child, so he could claim the moral high ground.
Xu Ling pulled a fully answered exam paper out from his backpack and waved it in front of him, showing off.
Ning Sheng: “Go away.”
Then his pencil case was opened, Xu Ling picked a pen, wrote Ning Sheng’s name on his own paper, then pushed it towards him.
“Teacher!” Xu Ling raised his hand happily, “I didn’t do my homework!”
The language teacher was stunned, “You’re happy even though you didn’t do it. Are you trying to provoke me?”
Xu Ling grabbed a book, swaggered to the window for punishment, and even nodded specially to Ning Sheng before he left.
And Ning Sheng, his cheeks heating up, buried his head in his arms.
So embarrassing. Being this old yet still forgetting to do homework.
But having to do homework after being reborn was too much, right? It was clearly this world’s fault.
However speaking of which, he hadn’t raised Xu Ling in vain. He was even standing in for him for punishment.
Clearly, he could have solved it on his own.
Was this the legendary ‘repaying favor given with kindness’? It felt kind of satisfying.
However without Xu Ling, class was a little boring.
The desk was empty, suddenly leaving quite a bit of space, making him feel insecure.
Luckily, Xu Ling only stood for the language class and when class ended, he came back, holding breakfast he had bought outside— peanut soy milk and steamed buns from the cafeteria, both of which Ning Sheng liked.
“You’re quite adept at managing your punishment time.” Ning Sheng bit into the bun, leaning his head on Xu Ling’s shoulder.
It was break time now, so people passed by the corridor outside the window from time to time, however a few faint glances always seemed to stop on him, making Ning Sheng feel uncomfortable as he ate.
What are you looking at me for? Haven’t you seen a bun before?
With a click, Xu Ling pulled the curtains close.
“Is it too sunny?” Ning Sheng asked.
Xu Ling: “It’s scorching.”
Ning Sheng: “You’re so delicate.”
Xu Ling pointed to himself: “You’re saying that about me?”
“I can’t even say it? You’re really precious.” Ning Sheng teased.
Xu Ling slammed his head on the table with a clang.
And nibbling on the bun, Ning Sheng made a few strokes on the paper.
Xu Ling, a junior high student, tall and handsome, knows a bit of French, plays the violin at the tenth level, is considered the leader in looks in their school, but with this temperament, he still lacks refinement.
The plan to raise the little devil king needed some fine-tuning.
“Do you want to learn flower arranging?” Ning Sheng asked.
Xu Ling: “I don’t want to.”
“Great, then I’ll have my grandma find us a flower arranging teacher when I get back today!” Ning Sheng said happily.
Xu Ling: “So asking my opinion was purely for show!”
“Learning flower arranging is very interesting.” Then Ning Sheng added, “You can’t even tell the difference between a fuchsia and a hibiscus, embarrassing.”
“You can’t even tell the difference between an apple tree and a pear tree, who’s more embarrassing?” Xu Ling asked.
Ning Sheng slammed the book onto Xu Ling’s head.
A corner of the curtain was lifted, then Li Haoyue stuck his head in.
“Princess, you’re busy with family domestic violence?” Li Haoyue asked. “Then I’ll come back later.”
Ning Sheng: “?”
“Who’s family with him?” He said, “I’m just… just…”
Xu Ling: “Just what?”
Ning Sheng snorted, “Just disciplining my dog.”
“What’s up?” Xu Ling asked.
Blushing, Li Haoyue took a pink envelope and a box of candy out from his pocket and handed them to Ning Sheng. “Someone asked me to give this to you…..”
“What did they give you in return?” Xu Ling asked him.
“Just….. just two sets of third-year math competition questions.” Li Haoyue said hesitantly.
Xu Ling: “I’ll give you three sets, take your envelope and scram.”
Li Haoyue turned and left, “Got it.”
“Where will you get the math questions from?” Ning Sheng asked Xu Ling.
Xu Ling: “I’ll tear some out from your advanced math book for him.”
Ning Sheng: “……”
You’ve always been quite good at borrowing flowers to offer to buddha.
“Can he understand advanced math?” Ning Sheng asked Xu Ling.
Xu Ling: “It doesn’t matter. For math nerds, what they can understand is garbage, and what they can’t understand is treasure.”
Ning Sheng: “?”
What exactly was that? All mysterious.
However he was too lazy to bother with it.
T/N: Happy Saturday!!!
