Chapter 55.1

Editor: Princess

At Xu Ling’s house.

Xu Ling’s mother was calculating accounts when she answered the phone.

“You still remember the sheep.” Xu Ling’s mother said. “Your father took them out to graze.”

Xu Ling’s mother continued, “Are you still playing outside? Bring the Math Nerd over to help me. These recent accounts are getting quite troublesome to calculate.”

Xu Ling: “No problem.”

Ning Sheng carefully stepped on Xu Ling’s shoulders to climb down from the tree, then returned home together with Xu Ling.

During this period, Xu Ling’s family had expanded their business again.

They opened a car repair shop across the street, and since the new shop was about to open, there were many tasks to handle.

Ning Sheng sat on the swing in the courtyard, swaying back and forth.

And not far away, Li Haoyue was calculating accounts while Lu Peng and Xu Ling were moving tires.

Xu Ling carried one tire in each hand, striding past Ning Sheng’s field of vision with swift steps, walking back and forth repeatedly.

Sweat dampened the young man’s white shirt, and a thin sheen of perspiration gathered on Xu Ling’s forearms. The tensed muscle lines were full of strength, flowing smoothly and beautifully.

“So envious.” Ning Sheng thought to himself.

After moving more than ten tires, Xu Ling unscrewed a bottle of mineral water, tilted his neck back, and drained most of it. Then he poured the remainder over his head to cool down.

He whistled as he turned to look at the swing, but Ning Sheng was nowhere to be seen. His whistling stopped abruptly.

“Where’s Ning Ning?” He asked.

Lu Peng: “On the swing.”

“Am I blind, or did he turn invisible?” Xu Ling asked.

Lu Peng: “Huh, he was just there a moment ago.”

Xu Ling decided to go to the bathroom first, however when he pushed open the door, he froze.

Ning Sheng was standing with his back to him, pressed against the mirror.

His one hand pressed against the mirror with five fingers spread, while the other hand lifted his shirt very high. The young man’s snow-white narrow waist was lean and taut, with a graceful waistline and a slightly curved lower back.

Xu Ling’s fingers, hanging at his sides, tightened as if wanting to grasp something and knead it repeatedly.

“What’s wrong?” Xu Ling softened his voice.

“I think I have abs.” Ning Sheng said.

Xu Ling leaned against the doorframe and laughed loudly.

“I really do.” Ning Sheng said, pressing his shirt with one hand while grabbing Xu Ling’s wrist with the other.

He pressed Xu Ling’s hand against his own lower abdomen. “Feel it.”

Xu Ling stopped laughing.

“Can you feel it?” Ning Sheng asked.

Xu Ling remained silent.

“Don’t just press there without moving! Your hand is so hot.” Ning Sheng pushed his hand, making him place it on his waist. “This Young Master’s figure is still quite good.”

He had never lost to these simple-minded high school students.

“There might be a little.” Xu Ling said, his hands beginning to tremble.

The skin under his palm was slightly cool, gleaming white, soft yet resilient. It almost reminded him of a freshly peeled lychee – with just a gentle pinch, it seemed like it could be punctured.

Xu Ling said, “Perhaps there is.”

Ning Sheng huffed and slammed the door as he left.

Aunt Xu brought a plate of sugar cakes, and the three boys ate them while watching the sunset.

“Where’s Xu Ling?” Li Haoyue asked.

“He said he was going to pee.” Lu Peng replied. “But it’s been so long, is he planning to pee out a small river?”

Ning Sheng looked puzzled.

Li Haoyue snorted coldly.

“Don’t eat anymore.” Ning Sheng said. “Save a piece for him.”

Lu Peng withdrew his hand.

Just then, Xu Ling finally came over slowly.

“Did you take a shower?” Ning Sheng smelled the fresh scent of soap.

Taking a shower at this time?

“Yes.” Xu Ling answered, putting his arm around Ning Sheng’s shoulder. “I was sweating all over. You wouldn’t let me touch you if I didn’t wash up.”

The math nerd, who was nibbling his sugar cake into a perfect square, looked up, glanced at Xu Ling, then focused on his cake again.

The summer evening carried wisps of cool breeze. Ning Sheng was held close by Xu Ling’s side, unable to move much, and so could only lean against him gently.

‘He’s grown too fast, he’s already a large dog.’ Ning Sheng thought to himself.

‘Fortunately, he’s my friend and on my side.’ Ning Sheng reflected.

“School starts in a few days.” Ning Sheng started. “This Young Master hasn’t finished his homework yet.”

High school assignments were numerous. Many problems seemed so unnecessary to him that he wouldn’t even glance at them twice. However, not completing them would result in standing in the corner punishment.

“I’ll do it for you.” Xu Ling offered.

“Then I’ll reward you.” Ning Sheng said. “I’ll cook for you.”

Xu Ling refused hurriedly, “There’s no need.”

He was terrified.

“Princess, that plate of poisonous mushroom sashimi you made last month nearly sent three of the four golden suns to their deaths.” Lu Peng said.

Ning Sheng: “…..”

“I’ll use non-poisonous ingredients next time.” He promised.

The joy of feeding the little devil king was so addictive that once experienced, it begged for repetition.

“Someday I’ll be able to cook delicious food, and then you’ll kneel down and beg me to cook for you.” Ning Sheng declared.

“Just don’t poison me before that day comes.” Xu Ling replied.

“Have you all considered which universities you want to attend?” Xu Ling asked.

Ning Sheng responded with a questioning sound.

He hadn’t really thought about it.

In his previous life, he had attended university in S City. During his university years, he had just taken over the family company when Xu Ling caught him off guard. Then he spent countless nights staying up late with bloodshot eyes, trying to devise countermeasures.

“I can get into university – don’t glare at me.” Xu Ling said.

Ning Sheng: “….”

It was good that Xu Ling was now his best friend, which meant he wouldn’t have to stay up late with bloodshot eyes anymore.

“I’m going to S City.” Li Haoyue told them. “During the last competition, teachers have already contacted me.”

“You should go to S City too.” Ning Sheng told Xu Ling.

This guy was wild and ambitious, Qing’an Town couldn’t contain him.

He would do his best to help Xu Ling escape his unhappy childhood, but Xu Ling’s future deserved broader horizons.

“What about you?” Xu Ling asked.

“Where the young master wants to go is this young master’s freedom.” Ning Sheng said. “Ow… don’t hug me so hard! Don’t you know how strong you are?”

“I’ll go wherever you go, okay!” Ning Sheng shouted.

How clingy.

“The three of us shouldn’t have any problems.” Li Haoyue said. “Well, we’ll have to push Lu Peng hard again.”

Lu Peng: “….”
