Chapter 47.2

Editor: Princess

[What? Another person?]

[Although I can’t see his face, he looks handsome.]

[Are all male high school students this privileged nowadays?]

[Am I the only one who noticed he’s doing the young master’s homework?!]

Ning Sheng had forgotten to get water and so now simply commandeered Xu Ling’s green tea.

“This tea is more bitter than my life.” Ning Sheng said.

“Your life isn’t bitter.” Xu Ling started to say, but seemed to remember something and lowered his voice.

Little Ning Ning was really pitiful when he was young.

But that cold and sarcastic temperament, along with that face that surpassed most people, made it easy to forget this fact.

Ning Sheng drank more than half of Xu Ling’s cooling-down tea, occasionally reaching out to feed Xu Ling some chocolate cookies.

Xu Ling was really fast at composing essays and could even imitate his handwriting, hence before long, Ning Sheng’s homework was completed.

“There’s half left.” Ning Sheng handed out the cup. “Still want to cool down?”

“Not anymore.” Xu Ling said. “It’s more like adding fuel to the fire now.”

Ning Sheng: “?”

This high school boy’s mind was running wild, lately always saying things he couldn’t understand.

“Should I close this livestream for you?” Xu Ling asked.

Ning Sheng: “Go ahead.”

He sat back at his own desk to check the homework.

Very good. In the diary, Xu Ling had portrayed him as a good student who studied every day.

“You’re really amazing.” Ning Sheng put away the homework notebook.

Xu Ling felt a bit elated and swayingly climbed up to his own top bunk.

The side of his leg above the knee, where Ning Sheng had kicked off his slipper and stepped on him, still retained the lingering warmth.

He lay flat on his back, feeling uncomfortable and restless.

“Dog Xu.” Lu Peng asked carefully, “Is my bed comfortable?”

Xu Ling: “…”

Xu Ling: “Do you put your sheets directly on the bed board?”

Then the next day during class break, all three of them—plus Li Haoyue—were called to the teacher’s office.

“5 PM on the 22nd.” Their homeroom teacher started, “Li Haoyue wrote that the three of you were selling goods at the market, Xu Ling wrote that the three of you were watching documentaries, and Ning Sheng wrote that the three of you were solving math problems.”

Their homeroom teacher: “Grading your homework is like playing a murder mystery game.”

Ning Sheng: “…”

Because all three of them were tight-lipped and unwilling to snitch on each other, making truth indistinguishable from fiction, the homeroom teacher had no choice but to make all three stand in the office as punishment.

“We’ve ended up standing as punishment anyway.” Ning Sheng said. “I should have just not written it.”

Xu Ling: “You talk as if you actually wrote it yourself?”

“I should have not stepped on you.” Ning Sheng said. “It was tiring.”

Xu Ling fell silent.

“What, was that a reward for you?” Li Haoyue asked.

“I’ve said it before, can’t your thoughts be a little purer!” Xu Ling shouted angrily.

Li Haoyue: “Our academic genius has meticulous thoughts.”

“Can you guys be quiet while standing punishment!” Their homeroom teacher said. “I’m still here.”

Ning Sheng, very politely: “Then we’ll chat after you leave.”

The office door was pushed open again, and Lu Peng came in looking for the P.E. teacher.

“With your physique, switching to a sports track is indeed a good choice.” The teacher praised. “Do you still have records of your middle school P.E. scores? I’d like to see them.”

Lu Peng: “Middle school? Not sure…”

“Yes.” A voice said from the side.

Ning Sheng nudged Li Haoyue, and the math nerd rattled off a string of numbers.

“Not bad.” The teacher said. “Fill out an application form, and I’ll submit it upwards for you.”

“Thank you, teacher.” Lu Peng said. “Why are you guys here?”

Lu Peng walked over to them.

“Go back, all of you go back.” Ning Sheng’s homeroom teacher waved. “You’re blocking my air conditioning.”

The four boys left immediately.

“How did you come up with the idea to switch to the sports track?” Ning Sheng asked Lu Peng in the hallway back to the classroom.

“I didn’t think of it.” Lu Peng scratched his hair. “Dog Xu suggested it to me.”

Ning Sheng: “Hmm…”

Indeed.

When he was younger, Lu Peng was rounder, but ever since he was forced to study by the three of them in ninth grade, he had transformed. His body fat percentage decreased, he grew taller, became handsome, and developed solid muscles. He really was good material for an athlete.

He glanced at Xu Ling. This guy was always loud and seemingly unreliable, but he was quite thoughtful on important matters.

I taught him well, Ning Sheng’s lips curved slightly.

Then he saw the four of them reflected in the glass window and felt genuinely sad.

He walked away angrily.

Lu Peng was extremely nervous: “What’s wrong? Should I not switch to the sports track?”

“It’s not that.” Xu Ling said with a headache. “He thinks he’s not as tall as us.”

“Princess isn’t short.” Li Haoyue said. “It’s just that those of us from Qing’an Town are quite tall.”

Lu Peng: “Dog Xu, go comfort him.”

Xu Ling: “I won’t go. I’ve spoiled him too much.”

Lu Peng: “I dare you not to go today.”

Xu Ling: “I don’t dare. I’ll go later.”
