Chapter 41.2

Editor: Jodi

The originally empty dormitory suddenly became lively due to the noise of a few people.

The children from Qing’an Town had strong self-care abilities, because a few of them carried water basins and cloths, starting to clean the dormitory.

Ning Sheng also took a piece, responsible for wiping the table.

However just after he finished wiping two spots, Xu Ling came over.

“This edge isn’t clean.” Xu Ling pointed out, “that edge is scratched.”

Xu Ling: “Tsk tsk.”

“Since you know how to wipe the edges, you do it.” Ning Sheng threw the cloth away.

Xu Ling: “….”

Picking the cloth up, he wiped the desk at lightning speed.

“Dog Xu, what are you doing? Princess is doing quite well today.” Lu Peng couldn’t stand it anymore.

“Indeed.” Li Haoyue added, “Ning Sheng is working hard today.”

Xu Ling paused for a moment: “Give me a break. With his stamina, he’ll need a day off to rest after this….. Ow!”

Xu Ling rubbed his head.

The dismissed Ning Sheng went to enjoy the fan.

However Dog Xu’s words became a prophecy.

Because in the evening, after the three of them finished tidying up the dormitory and bought instant noodles.

“Is it boiling?” Xu Ling asked Ning Sheng, who stayed behind in the dormitory.

Ning Sheng: “It’s boiling.”

Li Haoyue squatted in front of the kettle: “But it’s cold water. Sigh, you didn’t press the boil button.”

“Then what the heck is boiling?” Lu Peng asked.

Ning Sheng: “Me.”

Xu Ling: “…”

“You crow’s mouth.” Ning Sheng leaned against the bed weakly.

“38.5 degrees, not bad.” Xu Ling looked at the thermometer.

“Is he okay?” The dorm supervisor came to check the dormitory as well as see what was happening.

“He’s fine, we’ll keep an eye on him.” Xu Ling answered, “He’s like a little animal, stressed from the change of environment.”

Xu Ling: “See, he can still kick me, so it’s not a big deal.”

“Alright.” The dorm supervisor said in response. “But if he’s really uncomfortable tonight, you can come call me.”

Xu Ling: “Okay.”

The dorm supervisor glanced at their feet: “Your water is boiling.”

Xu Ling: “Thank you, teacher.”

The teacher: “There’s no need to thank me, but the dormitory doesn’t allow the use of kettles, so drink from it today, but send it back tomorrow.”

Li Haoyue: “Doesn’t it matter that I’m the top of the grade?”

“Not even if you’re the top in the world.” The teacher said kindly.

*

Ning Sheng took fever-reducing medicine and sat on the bed in a daze.

Whenever he was sick, his reactions would be slower than usual and he would turn quiet, not saying a word.

The instant noodles in the dormitory were ready, the aroma wafting through the air.

“I want to eat your instant noodles.” Ning Sheng grabbed Xu Ling’s shirt.

Xu Ling: “Mine is spicy. Don’t you usually not eat spicy food? Have you mutated?”

“Just a taste.” Ning Sheng said, “let me see if I’ve mutated.”

Xu Ling had no choice but to twirl a small piece with a fork, wait for it to cool a bit, then bring it to his lips.

The person leaning against the edge of the bed, due to the fever, had a pale face with a faint blush, his eyes looking a bit misty, his thick, dark eyelashes drooping lazily, half lowered, the faint illness making him look somewhat weak and delicate in the eyes of others.

Ning Sheng: “Xu Ge, it’s a little delicious.”

Xu Ling’s hand trembled, knowing he couldn’t keep the instant noodles in his hand.

Ning Sheng hugged Xu Ling’s instant noodle bucket and caught sight of Xu Ling holding a thermometer, poking it at his own head.

Ning Sheng: “?”

The little devil king had quite a strong curiosity.

“What’s your temperature?” He asked him.

“Double blooming.” Xu ling replied absentmindedly.

Li Haoyue: “….”

It turned out that Xu Ling had indeed noticed some patterns regarding Ning Sheng’s illness.

Because about two hours later, after taking the fever-reducing medicine, Ning Sheng’s temperature returned to normal, and he fell asleep peacefully.

*

The school’s bed was narrow and hard.

When Xu Ling climbed up to the top bunk, he saw Ning Sheng curled up in the blanket, serene yet pitiful.

Ning Sheng opened his eyes.

Ning Sheng: “Why are you shaking the bed?”

Xu Ling who was halfway up “….”

He continued to climb, and the fragile bunk creaked.

Ning Sheng: “You’re not allowed to shake the bed anymore.”

Xu Ling couldn’t go up or down.

Xu Ling: “Am I supposed to sleep hanging here?!”
