Chapter 28.2

Editor: Jodi

There were many people at home today, so Auntie Xu bought several breakfasts from the porridge shop in town.

Then four well-dressed first-year junior high students gathered around Xu Ling’s low table for breakfast.

“You weren’t awake, that’s why we allowed you sleep a bit more.” Xu Ling poured Ning Sheng a bowl of soy milk.

Ning Sheng asked, “And then you started gambling outside?”

Ning Sheng: “And fighting after gambling.”

Ning Sheng: “Am I deaf or am I dead, that you think I wouldn’t hear such a big commotion?”

Then he added, “I don’t eat fried dough sticks, take them away.”

“This is walnut soy milk, it tastes great with fried dough sticks.” Xu Ling put one in his bowl, “Try it.”

Ning Sheng: “!”

It was delicious, opening a new world for him.

“Seeing as you’re begging me.” Ning Sheng took Xu Ling’s bowl for himself, “I’ll do you a favor.”

“I am.” Xu Ling said, “Eat two more bites of glutinous rice cake.”

The rice cake was delicious too.

Following the little devil king, you could really eat well.

Ning Sheng seemed to see a happy future.

“This spicy radish is super delicious!” Lu Peng promoted, “Princess, want to try it?”

“He can’t eat that.” Xu Ling stopped him, “He’s still coughing.”

Ning Sheng: “Um…”

He really wanted to try the radish.

“You can have Dog Xu wash one with cool boiled water for you.” Li Haoyue suggested, “But that will be like a math problem with only one solution, tasteless.”

Ning Sheng: “……”

“I hate radishes.” Ning Sheng said coldly, “And your analogy disgusts me.”

After breakfast, Ning Sheng’s weekend officially began.

The family’s Maybach pulled up, the morning breeze of Qing’an Town blowing through, then the four of them, in brand new clothes got into the car, full of pride.

Ning Sheng leaned against the car window, looking at the scenery around Qing’an Town.

These sights that were familiar to Xu Ling and the others, were still novel to him.

“These are wheat seedlings.” Xu Ling explained, “Those are bean sprouts.”

“What’s that?” Ning Sheng pointed across the road.

Xu Ling: “?”

Xu Ling: “Fuck.”

He punched the just-awakened Lu Peng, “It looks like your dad is chasing the second senior brother!”

Lu Peng: “?”

It turns out that it was a pig from Lu Peng’s family that had escaped during transport.

Ning Sheng leaned back on the car window, watching Xu Ling and Lu Peng get out to help catch the pig.

Qing’an Town was lively, full of happenings.

Li Haoyue who was still in the car scribbled on a piece of paper then handed over a problem.

“Given the pig’s speed and Dog Xu’s speed, how long do you think it will take before he catches up?”

Ning Sheng‘s answer was, “Get out and go and chase the pig.”

So, everyone except Ning Sheng got out of the car.

Then feeling bored, he got out too.

“You can’t even catch a pig. Are you guys even capable of anything?” He asked. “Really noobs.”

Everyone was busy, so nobody answered, then the pig changed direction and rushed towards him, with Li Haoyue holding its tail.

Ning Sheng: “?”

“Idiot, grab the ear, not the tail.” Lu Peng shouted, “This isn’t the one I lost in cards.”

Li Haoyue: “I know, it’s just that I can’t reach it!”

“If you run as fast as the pig, you can reach it!” Lu Peng said, “Princess, watch out.”

Ning Sheng: “Ahhhhhh.”

Ning Sheng: “Why is there another one!”

“Ning Ning!” Xu Ling turned back, vaulting over several obstacles, running towards him.

However the pig’s survival instincts triggered Ning Sheng’s own as well.

Because suddenly, he knew how to climb a tree.

Xu Ling: “……?”

Xu Ling: “Hahahahahaha.”

Ning Sheng clung to the tree, gritting his teeth, “What are you laughing at!”

Xu Ling kept laughing but didn’t miss grabbing a sack to catch the pig.

Then Lu Peng and Li Haoyue tackled another pig, while Ning Sheng’s driver and Lu Peng’s father quickly caught up and put the pigs into a cage.

“Come down.” Xu Ling stood under the tree, “Ning Ning.”

Ning Sheng broke down, “I can’t, I’ve forgotten how to climb down.”

“Hug the tree then slide down.” Xu Ling told him, “Don’t be scared, step on my shoulder.”

“Stop laughing!” Ning Sheng said.

Xu Ling said, “I’m not laughing, it’s my face that’s cramping.”

Ning Sheng said, “You look too happy.”

“I’ll cry for you then.” Xu Ling said.

Xu Ling: “Boohoo…hahahaha.”

Ning Sheng slid down slowly and Xu Ling caught him, holding him in his arms.

“Ning Ning is really awesome.” Xu Ling said.

“Don’t hug me with your dirty hands that have touched pigs.” Ning Sheng struggled slightly.

Then unable to break free, he finally leaned his head on Xu Ling’s shoulder, “Idiot, you couldn’t even outrun a pig.”

“I’ll stay closer to you next time.” Xu Ling told him, “So don’t push me away.”

Helpful townsfolk Ning, Xu, and Li, helped the Lu family retrieve their runaway pigs then returned to the car.

“I’m exhausted.” Lu Peng flopped down.

“Good thing Princess saw it, otherwise your dad would be chasing pigs until tomorrow.” Xu Ling said.

Ning Sheng: “Hmph, Qing’an Town can’t do without me.”

[Math is great, I love math] : Those were domestic pigs, not wild ones, so they wouldn’t have hit too hard.

[Math is great, I love math] : I just got a little scratched.

[AAA Premium Piglet Wholesale] : Yeah, they were just hard to catch, but Princess didn’t have to climb a tree.

[AAA Premium Piglet Wholesale] : We almost caught them, but because of Princess, the pigs escaped.

[Ling] : Say that out loud if you dare.

The Maybach weaved through winding roads, driving into the busiest commercial street in the city.

Then a multimillion-dollar luxury car parked in front of the mall, attracting attention.

“Which young master or young lady is out shopping?”

“What a beautiful, clean car.”

“A Maybach, wow, the owner must be rich!”

The passersby whispered.

The city wind blew as the car door opened, then four dusty-faced townsfolk stepped out—

Three were laughing, while one was fuming.
