Chapter 16.1

Editor: Jodi

The people with the worst memory in the world were melon eaters. It had only been a couple of days, and already, very few people remembered the recent big battle that had taken place.

Mu Nan’s Weibo page had also become much calmer, while Shi Tao and Liang Wenmao were still being criticized relentlessly. However Mu Nan had long since stopped caring.

The only person left was Shi Lai.

Shi Lai was involved in the fund business, however although he held some influence within the circle, he was nothing compared to the Mu family’s immense wealth. All Mu Nan had to do was ask his father to lift a finger, and Shi Lai would be erased without a trace.

But Mu Nan would never do that, because although he usually seemed easygoing, he could be more stubborn than anyone when it came to things he didn’t want to do. Even when Wilder tentatively suggested that they ask Mu Le Tian for help, he almost got angry.

Wilder didn’t understand Mu Nan’s approach. To him, Shi Lai was like a ticking time bomb, one that was ready to go off at any moment. If this kind of thing happened a few more times, no one would be happy about it.

But Mu Nan maintained a rare zen-like attitude about the matter.

“If soldiers come, we’ll block them, if water rises, we’ll block it with earth.” Mu Nan teased the rabbits with some rabbit snacks, enjoying a blissful moment with them, “Besides, it’s not like I’m not going to deal with him. A gentleman’s revenge comes no matter how long it takes.”

Just as he finished saying this, Cheng Han came back, and after he finished washing his hands, he walked over and picked the little gray rabbit up.

Mu Nan liked the white rabbit, while Cheng Han preferred the gray one. The little gray rabbit that suddenly found itself in mid-air was so scared that it froze mid-chew, its paws flailing in the air until Cheng Han cradled it horizontally in his arms, where it finally calmed down.

“Have you named them yet?” Cheng Han asked.

“No.” Mu Nan replied angrily, “You have no idea how unreliable those fans are. I asked them to name the rabbits, and just look at what they came up with.”

A few days ago, Mu Nan’s fans had noticed that their idol had suddenly changed both his Weibo profile picture and header image overnight. The original solo shot had been replaced by a “three-person” image—or rather, two rabbits and one person.

In the picture, Mu Nan was holding a tiny rabbit in each hand—one gray and one white. The two rabbits were trying to kiss each other across Mu Nan’s face, and Mu Nan was in the middle, grinning like a father who had just welcomed a newborn child.

His fans were completely smitten by the cuteness.

[Hey? Why did you take a picture of three identical people!]

[Of the family of three, Nan Nan is the ugliest.]

[Did you drop the white rabbit, the gray rabbit, or the Nan rabbit?]

Mu Nan hadn’t expected everyone to like the rabbits so much, so he posted a Weibo specifically to collect name suggestions for them.

[One black and one white, how about calling them Big Hale and Little Hale?]

[No way, they need to have Nan Nan’s last name. How about Mu Da and Mu Er?]

[I think one should be called Glutinous Rice Ball and the other Sesame Dumpling. They sound… delicious—I mean, they sound nice.]

“Tell me, are any of these names usable?” Mu Nan was on the verge of pulling his hair out from thinking, but he still couldn’t come up with anything. “Forget it, let’s just call them Xiao Bai and Xiao Hui for now.”

Wilder had been worried that Mu Nan might lose his motivation for work because he was too absorbed in raising his pets, but later, he realized he was overthinking it—because it wasn’t just Mu Nan who was at risk of losing motivation.

There was a magazine shoot scheduled for today. When Wilder came to pick him up in the morning, Mu Nan blinked his innocent, big eyes and asked, “Can I bring them with me?”

Wilder looked at the three pairs of big, round eyes staring back at him, each one cuter than the last and before he could say anything, had already nodded.

Mu Nan placed the two rabbits into a space capsule-style pet carrier carefully. Since rabbits were easily frightened, he had bought a carrier with excellent soundproofing.

He didn’t trust anyone else to handle it, so he carried the bag all the way to the set himself.

There were quite a few people on set, so Mu Nan handed the carrier over to Xiao Jin for safekeeping, and between takes, he would go over to chat with the rabbits.

Although the rabbits were small, they were surprisingly bold, because they didn’t show any signs of panic even when they were surrounded by people.

As a result, even though no one posted photos of Mu Nan online after the filming due to the restrictions o. n the leakage of materials, his rabbits still managed to become a hot topic, even making a brief appearance on the hot search list.

Fans dubbed the two rabbits “The Chosen Rabbits”, with many saying they wanted to trade places with them.
