Chapter 44

Editor: Princess

That night, Mu Nan tossed and turned the entire evening.

Several names and letters kept flashing before his eyes, and when he closed his eyes, Cheng Han’s voice echoed in his ears: “Because these are our two names…”

Then he startled awake again.

He threw his pillow aside angrily, thinking he might as well not sleep at all!

He put on a T-shirt, slipped on his slippers, and walked out of his room. The hotel was now filled with Cheng Han’s people, so he wasn’t afraid of being photographed. He wandered down to the third floor just like that.

The third floor was the entertainment level, open twenty-four hours a day. Mu Nan walked straight into the small screening room.

The staff member who approached him recognized Mu Nan immediately: “Mr. Mu, what would you like to watch?”

“I can watch anything I want?” Mu Nan asked.

“Yes.” The staff member said, “You are our VIP guest.”

Mu Nan thought for a moment: “Then how about ‘The Ring’?”

The staff member’s expression showed a moment of bewilderment, then he confirmed: “Really?”

“Really… I think so.” Mu Nan swallowed nervously. He had chosen this movie because he wanted to test his courage. After all, having recorded four episodes of the show, he should have made some progress.

“This way, please.” The staff member brought him drinks and popcorn, then led him inside.

The screening room in the hotel was quite small. Instead of cinema-style rows of seats, it had a dozen or so sofas scattered around, which looked very comfortable.

Mu Nan chose a suitable spot, placed his drink on the coffee table, and hugged his popcorn while tossing kernels into his mouth.

Soon, the movie began.

However, as soon as the opening credits flashed by, he already regretted his decision.

The film was simply too frightening. From the very first second, the cold and eerie atmosphere began to permeate, and even before the ghost appeared, he already wanted to flee.

He began to regret his choice. Why did he need to put himself through this torture? Wouldn’t it have been better to lie comfortably in his room? Was the five-star hotel bed not comfortable enough, or was the room service steak not delicious enough?

Just as he was about to sneak away, he felt it would be too embarrassing to walk out.

The staff member clearly recognized him. If he left now, wouldn’t people always remember Mu Nan as that fool who got scared and ran away from a horror movie before even seeing the ghost?

“No, I have to persevere.” He encouraged himself and chewed his popcorn loudly, trying to boost his courage through this method.

However, when the first ghost appeared, he immediately declared his courage-boosting effort a failure.

“Ah!” He let out an uncontrollable scream, clutching the popcorn bucket tightly in his hands.

Just at that moment, a pair of hands suddenly reached out from behind him, covering his eyes.

The fingers were slender and cool, gently covering Mu Nan’s eyes and blocking his vision.

“Ahhhhh, a ghost!” Right when the horror movie reached its most tense moment, having hands suddenly reach out from behind could literally frighten someone with a weak heart to death.

Mu Nan reflexively threw whatever was in his hands toward the back. It was only after hearing a clattering sound that he realize that what he had thrown was a bucket of popcorn.

“Uh…” He cowered as he turned around, meeting Cheng Han’s tightly closed eyes.

Several kernels of popcorn hung in his hair, trembling in the air with each breath he took.

Faced with this scene, Mu Nan knew he shouldn’t laugh, but he couldn’t help himself.

“Pfft, hahahaha!” He pointed at Cheng Han’s somewhat disheveled appearance, laughing until he was doubled over.

“We’re even now!” Mu Nan was delighted beyond measure. He even took out his phone and snapped a couple of photos of Cheng Han. “Look, I’m keeping these as souvenirs. This will be your dark history.”

Cheng Han opened his eyes, his mouth twitching twice, but ultimately he said nothing.

He pulled off the popcorn hanging in his hair and looked at Mu Nan: “You can still laugh?”

Mu Nan’s reasoning was shaky, but his confidence was strong: “Who told you to ambush me from behind?”

Cheng Han: “I was…” He started to speak but swallowed his words halfway through. Unexpectedly, Mu Nan helped him complete the second half of his sentence.

“I know, you wanted to help me block the view so I wouldn’t see such frightening things.”

With that, he walked toward the exit: “I’m not watching anymore. It’s boring.”

Cheng Han watched as he stiffly twisted his neck, desperately trying not to look at the ghost on the screen during his turn. In the end, he couldn’t help but laugh.

The staff member was coming in to clean up the mess, so Cheng Han naturally followed Mu Nan out.

“Coming out to watch movies this late?” Cheng Han asked.

“Yeah.” Mu Nan said quietly, “I couldn’t sleep.”

“Going back now?”

Mu Nan glanced at him with some wariness: “What else?”

Cheng Han countered: “After watching a horror movie, you’ll be able to sleep?”

Mu Nan fell silent because after watching the horror movie, he would only be even more unable to sleep. Moreover, thinking about being alone in that huge room, he might not even dare to turn off the lights.

They rode the elevator up together. At what should have been their parting crossroads, Cheng Han suddenly spoke: “Come over.”

“Ah? Where? What for?” Mu Nan instinctively wrapped his arms around himself like an oppressed virtuous woman.

“To try on clothes.” Cheng Han said.

Now Mu Nan’s eyes grew even wider: “Try… try… try what?”

Cheng Han was exasperated, wondering what was going through that little brain of his: “Formal wear. The formal wear for the bell-ringing ceremony.”

Two minutes later, Mu Nan found himself following Cheng Han to his room in a daze.

Even now, he couldn’t figure out why the formal wear he was supposed to wear hadn’t appeared with Wilder or Xiao Jin, but had appeared in Cheng Han’s room instead.

“Try it on.” Cheng Han handed him a cream-white suit.

This brand was a luxury brand that Cheng Han had been collaborating with for years. Mu Nan had always loved their designs, so he went to the changing room to put it on.

The shirt was black. Mu Nan didn’t button the top two buttons, and his fair skin showed through the collar opening. Combined with the pure white suit outside, he looked like he could get married if he just added a red tie.

He walked up to Cheng Han: “Does it look good?” He asked.

Cheng Han had been facing away from him originally. When he heard the voice and suddenly turned around, he met Mu Nan’s expectant gaze.

Mu Nan looked at him eagerly, expecting him to give a positive evaluation.

As Cheng Han looked at him, he was actually stunned. The white color scheme suited him perfectly. His temperament was naturally innocent and pure, and paired with the white formal wear, he looked like a little angel who had descended to earth.

The black shirt lining added a touch of restraint to the purity.

Mu Nan swallowed, his Adam’s apple moving up and down once, visible and then hidden at the shirt’s collar.

Cheng Han averted his gaze somewhat frantically: “Good… very good-looking.”

Mu Nan broke into an incredibly happy smile: “Really? I think it looks good too. Why doesn’t the brand work with me? I really love their designs.”

“I’ll go change out of it now, don’t want to wrinkle it. I still need to wear it on Monday.”

“Go ahead.” Cheng Han said, his tone somewhat hurried, as if he were trying hard to restrain something.

After changing out of the clothes, however, Mu Nan didn’t leave. Instead, he continued to look at Cheng Han with his big, watery eyes.

“What’s wrong?” Cheng Han asked.

“I don’t dare sleep alone.” Mu Nan was matter-of-fact about it. He simply didn’t dare to sleep, and there was nothing shameful about being afraid. Besides, they had even shared a bed during the show. Now they were just sleeping in the same room, which should be fine.

However, Cheng Han’s expression was somewhat strange. If Mu Nan had to describe it, it carried a sense of both anticipation and resistance.

He hesitated with this expression for a moment, then said: “Come on then.”

He pushed open the master bedroom door for Mu Nan.

Mu Nan: ???

Cheng Han: ?

Mu Nan: “Just one bed?”

Cheng Han nodded: “This time we booked regular suites.”

Mu Nan looked at the bed, then at Cheng Han, developing a certain degree of doubt about this world.

“This isn’t appropriate, right?” Mu Nan asked.

Cheng Han nodded: “It is a bit inappropriate.”

Mu Nan never expected to be rebuffed just like that.

However, he looked at the bed, then thought about Sadako’s face in the movie. Finally, he gritted his teeth and walked into the bedroom.

“Let’s do this!” He had the bearing of someone heroically going to his death.

Cheng Han: …

Compared to the bed in the show, the hotel bed was countless times larger. Mu Nan hadn’t brought his pajamas, and he didn’t want to go back to get them. So he simply took off his T-shirt and slept shirtless. After all, they were both men, so it didn’t matter.

However, Cheng Han’s body instantly stiffened. Mu Nan had a slender build, and when his back curved slightly, his spine protruded prominently.

He completely couldn’t control his impulse to reach out and touch.

Since Cheng Han thought this, he acted on it.

The sensation was just as he had imagined. Even though what he touched was bone, Cheng Han didn’t find it uncomfortable. Even Mu Nan’s joints were warm and smooth, without sharp edges, just like him as a person.

When he was kind to people, he was so very kind. When he was mean to people, it was only a small kind of meanness.

“What are you doing!” Mu Nan sat up abruptly. He was startled by Cheng Han’s sudden attack.

Unexpectedly, Cheng Han said: “You’re too thin.”

“Are you crazy? Touching me in the middle of the night just to tell me I’m too thin?”

Cheng Han smiled and said nothing.

However, when he lay down again, to prevent Cheng Han from occasionally touching him again, he simply lay down facing him directly.

This angle happened to be perfect for Cheng Han to see his eyelashes.

Being stared at by such a gaze, it would be strange if Mu Nan could fall asleep.

He opened his eyes in the darkness and asked Cheng Han the question that had been troubling him all day: “Your company, why did you really give it that name?”

“Didn’t I tell you before?” Cheng Han asked back.

Mu Nan shook his head: “I want to hear you tell the truth.” His eyes appeared especially bright in the darkness.

Cheng Han also sat up, and they sat facing each other.

“Do you really want to hear the truth?” He asked.

Mu Nan nodded vigorously. He was afraid that if he couldn’t hear Cheng Han’s sincere answer, he wouldn’t be able to sleep well for the rest of his life.

The second after he nodded, Cheng Han’s face suddenly drew close, and then a kiss pressed down overwhelmingly.

Mu Nan’s brain instantly turned to mush. He didn’t know to dodge, couldn’t move, and just opened his mouth in bewilderment.

This exactly facilitated Cheng Han’s advance.

After the initial moment of roughness, Cheng Han quickly mastered the rhythm, penetrating bit by bit, giving Mu Nan enough space to adapt to every distance.

When Mu Nan came to his senses, he was already lying on the bed with both hands pinned down on either side by Cheng Han, trapped by the invasive kiss.

“Mmm mmm mmm!” After reacting, Mu Nan turned his head, trying to dodge.

“What’s wrong?” Cheng Han lifted his body slightly and asked.

“Get off me!” Mu Nan was furious, struggling to push him away.

Cheng Han had just released Mu Nan when the next second, Mu Nan had already slapped him across the face.

“Cheng Han, you bastard! This is the second time!” He cursed while wiping his mouth, trying to erase the sensation of Cheng Han’s lips.

“Get out!” Mu Nan pushed him hard, his face flushed red all over, his expression full of anger.

“This is my room…”

“Get out!” Mu Nan didn’t wait for him to finish, pushing and kicking him out of the room.

Shut out of the door, Cheng Han sighed. He had forgotten that even rabbits bite when cornered.
