Chapter 14.2

Editor: Jodi

Since learning this news, Mu Nan had been in a daze all day, and by evening, he couldn’t hold back anymore and messaged Cheng Han: [Where are you?]

Cheng Han didn’t ask why and just sent him an address directly— it was a private dining restaurant.

After receiving the address, Mu Nan drove over immediately.

However when he reached the door, he remembered that this restaurant operated strictly by membership reservations. If he went back now, he’d feel defeated, but asking Cheng Han for help would make him feel like dying.

As he hesitated, a waiter opened the door, gesturing for him to enter. “Mr. Mu, please come in.”

“Huh? You knew I was coming?”

“Yes, Mr. Cheng just gave the instructions.”

Mu Nan felt a slight awkwardness, but still followed the waiter inside. As he approached the private room, he saw a server entering with dishes, and the door was slightly ajar. He glanced through it casually, then froze for a split second.

The first person he saw was Cheng Han, and next to him was Yang Yuzhu.

The two were chatting about something pleasant, and the reason Mu Nan was so sure about this was because of Cheng Han’s relaxed and genuine smile. It wasn’t his usual insincere business smile, but a real one.

What’s more Yang Yuzhu was also smiling shyly, looking a bit reserved.

On top of that, Mu Nan was also drawn by their close proximity. They were sitting close, leaning toward each other, with Yang Yuzhu listening attentively to Cheng Han, who was speaking near his ear.

For some reason, seeing this scene made Mu Nan inexplicably uncomfortable.

Cheng Han never smiled like that— he was always cold, seemingly indifferent to everything. Could it be that a new idol he had just met could make him trust him and even become such close friends with him?

Mu Nan didn’t realize how unpleasant his face looked when he entered. Besides them, Cheng Han’s team was also in the room.

Yang Yuzhu already felt guilty towards Mu Nan, so seeing his displeased expression, his face turned pale with fear. “Mu…. Mu Nan Ge, you’re here.”

Mu Nan had no grievances against Yang Yuzhu, so he aimed his spear at Cheng Han. “Why did you call me here?”

Cheng Han looked innocent. “When did I do that?”

“You didn’t say anything, just sent me the address. Isn’t that calling me over?”

Cheng Han’s smile from earlier had vanished, replaced by impatience. “Can you be reasonable? You asked where I was, and I simply answered.”

Mu Nan: “…”

Damn, he made a reasonable point.

Yang Yuzhu, who had been left out looked around, then realizing he had no place in the conversation, raised his hand quietly. “How about you two seniors chat first, and I’ll leave?”

“Alright.”

“Wait!”

Two voices came from both sides, causing Yang Yuzhu to not know what to do.

Only then did Mu Nan realize that there was something wrong with him. He didn’t know why he was so angry.

Before coming, he had wanted to thank Cheng Han properly, but instead of thanking him, they ended up arguing again. The same thing had happened last time too, he had intended to apologize but it ended in a fight.

Mu Nan couldn’t understand why, but following the principle of quantum mechanics, he summarized the phenomenon as “Schrödinger’s Cheng Han”.

Put a pair of adversaries together, they exist in a superposition of quarreling and not quarreling states. Only when they actually meet does the quantum state collapse into one of the two outcomes.

“I say, Schrod… uh, no, Cheng Han, why are you with Yang Yuzhu today?”

Cheng Han asked Yang Yuzhu, his agent, and his assistant to leave first, then explained to Mu Nan, “Yang Yuzhu’s contract is expiring soon, and he’ll sign with my studio. Today, we had a meeting with my team.”

“Oh.” Mu Nan regretted his earlier impulsiveness and so said with a little bit of guilt. “I understand. Um… are you feeling better now?”

Cheng Han was surprised by the question and raised an eyebrow. “Much better, thanks for taking me to the hospital last time.”

“No need to thank me.”

“Is there anything else you want to say?” Cheng Han asked, seeing that he wasn’t leaving.

You have to say thank you, say thank you, thank him for helping!

Mu Nan shouted at himself in his mind, but the words that came out were, “Although we have a legal marriage, we don’t have a real marital relationship. So if you want to pursue some outside male-male relationships, I can understand. But in order to avoid making things awkward for me, could you inform me if such a situation arises? That way, everyone will be happy— you can enjoy your two-person world life and I can enjoy my happy celibate life.”

Mu Nan said all this in one breath, all the while feeling like slapping himself. Unfortunately, his mouth moved faster than his brain.

No matter how one listened to what he had just said, it sounded weird, however he only saw Cheng Han look at him with an amused expression, his eyes asking, “Finished?”

Mu Nan’s eyes answered, “Otherwise?”

Cheng Han suddenly laughed. His laughter was so genuine that Mu Nan felt the previous laughter paled in comparison.

Cheng Han laughed for a good ten seconds before saying something that made Mu Nan want to wring his neck:

“Mu Nan, do you know what you sound like?”

“You’re jealous.”

“Get lost! I’d rather eat crap than be jealous of you!” Mu Nan fumed, unable to contain his anger.
