Chapter 11.2

Editor: Jodi

On the way to the hospital, Cheng Han was in bad shape but still forced himself to stay alert.

“Why did you choose this song today?” Cheng Han asked.

“None of your business.” Mu Nan retorted subconsciously, then realized Cheng Han was a patient and so he should be more accommodating. “I thought it sounded good, so I picked it.”

Cheng Han shook his head, seemingly in disagreement.

“What? You have an opinion?” Mu Nan asked.

“I don’t, but someone will.”

“Then say what you mean. Why be so cryptic?”

Cheng Han seemed tired. He leaned back and closed his eyes slowly. “It’s too late. You’ll find out.”

“Stop talking in riddles.” Mu Nan grumbled.

At the hospital, Cheng Han was taken for tests, and despite his resistance, the doctor insisted on a gastroscopy.

And with his mission complete, Mu Nan prepared to go home, having done his duty.

His stage makeup was still on, and the glitter on his eyelids reflected light, sparkling like a galaxy when he blinked.

“I didn’t expect.” Wilder joked with him. “That you’re quite the Good Samaritan.”

“Just take it as me helping an old lady cross the street.” Mu Nan replied.

Wilder choked up for a second. “Alright, let’s get you home. Rest up.”

Mu Nan logged into Weibo with his dummy account and searched his name. He had a habit of doing this after every performance to find rational and objective feedback.

He believed that as an idol, he couldn’t turn a blind eye to everything, because surrounded by endless flattery and mindless praise, he needed to stay vigilant in order to avoid being replaced.

“You…” Wilder started to speak from the front seat but stopped. “You’ve seen it?”

“Seen what?” Mu Nan refreshed the page casually, then saw a new trending hot search topic: #MuNanShiTaoOnStage#

He thought it was a hot search topic bought by Teness’s company, and so clicked on it. Unexpectedly, the first post made him freeze.

[Entertainment Gossip: Mu Nan and Shi Tao on stage, multiple sweet gazes, and a five-second hug at the end. I’m shipping this CP!]

[CP Headquarters: I’m all in for this pairing, double the cuteness. Just look at them!]

[A Curious Onlooker: Could they really be dating? Senior x Junior, Teacher x Student, it sounds quite intriguing.]

“They bought it?” Mu Nan asked.

Wilder quickly made a few calls. “It’s not from Teness. It’s from Shi Tao’s team.”

“No wonder.” Mu Nan muttered to himself.

He remembered that Shi Tao had first wanted to choose “Haze Attacks Gradually”, but then after he rejected it, he chose another song. And that final gaze and hug, which he had thought were due to Shi Tao’s excitement on stage, now seemed planned. He had unknowingly been part of an act.

“So that’s why he told me to be careful of Shi Tao…” Cheng Han’s warning suddenly made sense. “Did Cheng Han’s team find something?”

“I’ll ask.” Wilder called Cheng Han’s agent, then his expression turned serious. “Do you remember the time when your dance practice was filmed?”

“Yes, they said a temp worker took the video.”

“Cheng Han’s team believes it was Shi Tao’s doing, but they can’t find any payment transactions to prove it.”

“Damn.” Mu Nan cursed. He had faced many crises since his debut and had been slandered numerous times.

But he never expected to be backstabbed by a junior he admired and trusted.

“He’s really something.” Mu Nan said with a cold smile.

Mu Nan usually had a good temper, was always accommodating to fans’ requests, never acted like a diva, and had no idol pretensions.

But Wilder knew that he hated betrayal and deceit the most.

And an angry Mu Nan was not just a blackened rabbit— he had a vengeful streak.

“What do you want to do?” Wilder asked.

Mu Nan: “Doesn’t he want to hype up a CP? Then let him have his fill. If he wants to play dirty, then he shouldn’t blame me for being merciless.”
