Chapter 8.1

Editor: Jodi

“Let go of me! Don’t hold me back!” Mu Nan struggled desperately as Wilder and Xiao Jin held him down on either side, preventing him from moving.

Mu Nan was like a rabbit whose tail had been stepped on, as he tried to hop to escape their grasp.

“Calm down first!” Wilder was sweating profusely, shouting louder than Mu Nan. “There are all kinds of people backstage. What can you do if you rush over now?”

A few strands of Mu Nan’s styled hair fell loose, trembling violently with his movements.

“What right does he have? What right does Cheng Han have? This is sexual harassment. I won’t let him get away with it!”

Mu Nan was really agitated. His eyes were red, although it was unclear whether it was from anger or from feeling wronged.

Seeing Mu Nan like this, Wilder said softly, “Don’t be angry, don’t be angry. Let’s finish recording the program first. I’ll arrange a time for you to settle the score with him privately.”

Mu Nan calmed down, then curled up silently in his chair, his eyes becoming more and more red.

He didn’t know what was happening to him, because after the initial burst of anger, all that remained was a deep sense of grievance.

How dare Cheng Han kiss him? Why did he kiss him?

He and Cheng Han were sworn enemies who fought every time they met that even the thought of marrying someone like Cheng Han made him uneasy, but just now, they had actually kissed.

And this was even his first kiss, although, strictly speaking, it wasn’t really a kiss, just a bite with emotional outburst.

But still, he was both angry and aggrieved.

Wilder and Xiao Jin had both let go of him at some point, and now, Wilder was at the door, negotiating with someone.

Mu Nan’s ears perked up, then he heard a rustling sound. It turns out it was Cheng Han.

“I came to check on him.” Cheng Han said in a low voice.

Wilder replied helplessly, “Now might not be a good time. Xiao Nan is very angry, and we have more recording to do. If you two start arguing, it’ll be hard to control the situation.”

“I won’t argue. I just came to apologize.”

Wilder clearly didn’t believe him, because he smiled awkwardly, “You know how Xiao Nan is when he gets angry. How could you not argue?”

Cheng Han sighed, “Then I’ll come back after the recording. Please pass on my message. I got too into character just now. It wasn’t intentional. I hope he’s not too angry.”

Wilder nodded, “Alright, I’ll tell him.”

Then after dismissing Cheng Han, Wilder turned back to the lounge, only to meet Mu Nan’s glaring eyes.

Mu Nan’s eyes were especially bright in the darkness, startling Wilder, “Are you trying to scare me to death?”

“I heard everything.” Mu Nan said directly.

“Ah?” Wilder stammered, “Heard…… heard what?”

“Cheng Han wants to apologize to me.” Mu Nan’s face was cold.

Wilder felt a sudden embarrassment as if he had been caught doing something red-handed, “Then….. then do you forgive him?”

To Wilder’s surprise, Mu Nan didn’t act like a reckless little lion. Instead, he said dejectedly, “I don’t know.”

“You don’t know?”

Mu Nan rested his neck on the back of the chair and let his head hang down, causing blood to rush to his head a little. He stared at the ceiling and asked, “Into character? Do you believe that?”

Wilder didn’t expect him to ask that, causing him to stammer for a long time, unsure of how to respond.

“It’s okay, I just remembered. Cheng Han has already acted in several TV series, and he’s about to transition from a traffic star to an actor.”

Wilder laughed, “This is just the beginning. It’s not that easy. Idol transitions are tough. Look at SK Country. How many idols successfully make the transition?”

Mu Nan, however, suddenly started lamenting in an old fashioned manner, “I’m also twenty-four. Seeing these young boys rise like bamboo shoots after a spring rain, how many more years can I keep being an idol?”

Then the moment he finished saying this, he consoled himself, “Forget it, I won’t think about it. I’ll deal with it when I fade out.”

Wilder was stunned for a long time, not knowing what had gotten into him again.
