Editor: Princess
These two recording sessions were scheduled together in the same city to accommodate the artists’ schedules, so they were recorded simultaneously.
The third recording took place in a theme park that boasted Asia’s fastest roller coaster, tallest drop tower, and various other superlatives.
Therefore, this session would be the greatest fear for people with acrophobia.
Both Mu Nan and Cheng Han weren’t afraid of heights, so they completed the recording smoothly.
However, throughout the entire recording process, Mu Nan barely spoke a word to Cheng Han.
When the theme for the fourth recording was announced, the other five people began wailing, but Cheng Han secretly smiled in his heart.
The final episode’s recording returned to its original theme—ghosts.
“The theme for our fourth recording is ‘Ghostly Possession’. Please follow the rules of the game.”
When the director announced this theme, Mu Nan’s legs began to go weak again. He had become less afraid of ghosts, but after not training for a while, instinct had won again.
The ghostly possession storyline resembled plots commonly seen in Hong Kong and Taiwan ghost films. Six people, as guests, were invited to an old mansion from the Republican era. However, this time, the mansion contained not only the six of them but also various lively NPCs, including the mansion’s male and female owners, servants, coachmen who could come and go from the mansion, and various workers.
However, ghosts were hidden among this lively group of people. Ghosts could appear in any form, in any place, speak to you in any possible way, and possess people through any conceivable method.
If a possessed person failed to exorcise the ghost within a certain time, they would completely become a servant driven by the ghost.
To summarize in four words: impossible to guard against.
Anyone could be a ghost, and they couldn’t even trust their teammates beside them.
Even more thrilling was that this time, they would spend a full day and night in the mansion. And all the staff members were divided into two shifts, continuously filming around the clock.
Mu Nan declared that after such a recording session, he would definitely suffer from neurasthenia.
At six o’clock on the evening when recording began, they were delivered to the mansion’s entrance, where a butler came out to greet them.
The butler was a middle-aged man in his fifties with a somewhat bitter and vengeful appearance.
He led them expressionlessly. “The master has been waiting for a long time.”
Cui Zhihang whispered, “Is he a ghost?”
Mu Nan hesitated for a moment. “Probably not. He has a shadow, right?”
Du Ling laughed with a “puchi” sound. “This is a reality show, not a movie. Tell me, how could they eliminate shadows? By making him invisible?”
Mu Nan smiled awkwardly. “True.”
Upon entering the mansion, they were led all the way to the dining room, which contained a long dining table.
And at the farthest ends of the dining table sat the male and female owners respectively. However when everyone entered, both kept their eyes straight ahead, as if they couldn’t see them at all.
“Their clothes look so strange.” Ai Qian Qian voiced out.
The two wore clothes in black and red, both printed with circular patterns. However, these clothes seemed to have no shape, hanging loosely on their bodies, and when the wind blew, the hems would flutter.
“They look somewhat cheap?” Duan Shi asked quietly.
“Those are burial clothes.” Cheng Han suddenly spoke.
“Ah?!” The others let out exclamations of surprise at the same.
Instantly, the door behind them slammed shut with a “bang”, all the windows were covered with black cloth, and the room became pitch black.
Mu Nan’s heart jumped, and he moved closer to the person beside him. The person next to him extended a hand to support his arm.
With another “swoosh”, two candlesticks on the table lit up.
The candlesticks were positioned directly below the male and female owners’ faces, illuminating their expressionless features.
“Ah!” This sudden fright made Ai Qian Qian cry out.
By candlelight, Mu Nan finally saw clearly that the person beside him was actually Cheng Han. He moved two steps in the opposite direction, creating distance between himself and Cheng Han. He saw that Cheng Han’s already raised hand fell back down uncomfortably.
“Please be seated.” The male owner’s flat voice rang out, and he raised his hand to point at the chairs on both sides.
“What… what’s on his hand?” Mu Nan asked tremblingly.
“Corpse spots.” Cheng Han strode toward the seat with his name on it.
The other several people also followed, shuffling to their seats, and then candlesticks lit up in front of all six people.
“There are three rooms here. Please stay two to a room.”
The six people looked at each other. With three men and three women, one room would definitely have mixed-gender occupancy.
Mu Nan raised his hand and asked, “May we have three people stay together?”
The female owner answered him, “As you wish, but when dawn breaks each day, no more than two living people will remain in each room.”
Everyone shuddered collectively. This meant that if three people stayed together, one person would definitely die.
“How should we arrange the rooms?” Ai Qian Qian asked. “Let me make it clear first—I won’t share a room with men.”
Duan Shi frowned when she heard this. She was about to criticize Ai Qian Qian when she heard Du Ling speak first. “Cui Zhihang, you can room with me.”
Cui Zhihang was startled, then agreed. Both he and Du Ling were actors, and their fans were relatively low-key, making them indeed more suitable than the remaining few people.
This way, the only person Mu Nan could room with was Cheng Han.
Neither of them spoke as they went upstairs to the room prepared for them.
However, when they pushed open the door, both of them were dumbfounded. The room contained only a single bed, one blanket, one long pillow, and nothing else.
