Editor: Princess
There was a sudden knock at the door. Mu Nan called out from the bathroom, “The door’s unlocked, come in.”
Xiao Jin had just gone to his room to fetch medicine, leaving the door open when he left.
“Help me pull this, I need to tear it off.” Mu Nan said without looking back.
However “Xiao Jin” didn’t move. Mu Nan was holding one edge of the plastic wrap with his teeth. “Hurry up, my mouth is getting sore.”
The person behind him approached slowly, however Mu Nan still sensed that something wasn’t right.
This shadow… Xiao Jin wasn’t this tall.
He turned abruptly, only to trip over his own feet clumsily, about to fall in an extremely awkward posture.
“Be careful!”
Following a deep voice, Mu Nan fell against a broad chest.
The plastic wrap slipped from his hand, and what he had managed to wrap around his arm also unraveled.
Mu Nan covered his nose and looked up. Somehow, despite everyone being made of flesh, Cheng Han’s body felt particularly hard.
Looking up, he met Cheng Han’s gaze, which was still filled with the concern he had seen earlier.
“Be careful.” He said as Mu Nan untangled his slippers.
“You are the one who scared me. Otherwise, how could I possibly fall?” Mu Nan complained.
“Mm, I was wrong.” Cheng Han conceded without resistance.
Now it was Mu Nan’s turn to be surprised, although his surprise merely flashed briefly before he controlled it.
“Why are you here?” He asked.
Cheng Han raised the external medicine in his hand. “To bring you medicine.”
“Where’s Xiao Jin?” Mu Nan asked.
“I met him in the elevator. I told him to rest first. He’s also been running around all day.”
“You’re the only one who’s a good person.” Mu Nan retorted reflexively, however Cheng Han didn’t respond in kind. Instead, he picked the plastic wrap up and helped wrap the final few rounds.
“Done.” Cheng Han flattened the torn edge carefully to prevent it from unraveling during the shower.
Mu Nan’s arm was very fair, what’s more he had recently been neglecting exercise, which meant that the slight bicep definition he had developed was now soft, white flesh.
And currently, under the plastic wrap’s constraint, the flesh on his arm was compressed, creating a mark at the wrap’s edge. That slightly protruding flesh appeared quite tempting to bite.
Cheng Han swallowed, however the urge to bite that flesh remained undiminished.
“I’ve left the medicine here. Go shower and then sleep.” And with that, he practically fled.
Watching Cheng Han’s retreating figure, Mu Nan was confused. “Nobody’s chasing him away. Why is he in such a hurry?”
*
The second day’s recording shared the same theme, only, it was relocated to an old mansion. And in poor condition and injured, Mu Nan was eliminated early and sent to rest.
This time, as expected, Cheng Han successfully escaped, receiving a medal that matched the one Mu Nan had.
After this recording concluded, Mu Nan didn’t return home directly.
Instead, he fled, choosing escape to avoid Cheng Han.
However, he didn’t flee far, only to Shanghai. He had received an invitation to record a TV drama theme song, which required him to be in Shanghai for three days.
After the recording, he lingered in Shanghai for a few more days. However on the day before he absolutely had to return to Beijing, he received a call from Duan Shi.
Hearing he was in Shanghai, Duan Shi invited him for dinner. And since Mu Nan and Duan Shi had established a deep comradeship during the show, he gladly accepted.
Duan Shi arranged to meet at an upscale Japanese restaurant. A restaurant that wasn’t overly popular but emphasized privacy.
She first exchanged pleasantries, then played him a demo.
The melody was beautiful, featuring a fresh, youthful style. Additionally, Duan Shi’s voice was pure, which further enhanced the song’s vibrant beauty.
“It sounds wonderful.” Mu Nan complimented sincerely. “The style suits you perfectly.”
“Really?” Duan Shi’s eyes suddenly brightened. Receiving praise from Mu Nan seemed to delight her greatly. “I wrote it myself! Both the lyrics and the melody.”
“Then you’re very talented.” Mu Nan’s praise was genuine. “You were born to be a singer.”
Duan Shi smiled more happily. When she smiled, her eyes curved like crescent moons, making her look both innocent and adorable.
Yet while smiling, she lowered her head bashfully.
“Mu Nan, may I ask you something?” She asked softly, head down.
“Of course, go ahead.”
Duan Shi glanced up at him, then looked down again. Her face flushed red. “Are you… are you currently single?”
“Huh?” Mu Nan was startled, completely stunned.
So… if he hadn’t misunderstood, was this a confession?
Throughout his life, Mu Nan had had minimal experience with confessions. Although he was attractive and decent, everyone around him treated him as a younger brother. And after his debut, his fans wanted to be his mother rather than his girlfriend.
Mu Nan had once been quite troubled, feeling that his romantic luck was poor.
Unexpectedly, it wasn’t that romance had abandoned him. It was that it had merely arrived late.
The only problem was that it arrived precisely when he was already married.
After a moment’s silence, he pulled out a necklace from his collar, on which hung a platinum plain band ring.
Then he smiled at her apologetically without saying anything.
Duan Shi looked at him in disbelief, the liveliness gradually fading from her bright eyes. Soon, tears fell drop by drop onto the table.
Mu Nan pushed the tissue box toward her silently, beginning to regret using this tactic.
This method Cheng Han had taught him seemed to have too much destructive power?
