Chapter 31.1
Editor: Princess
The program went online on time. Mu Nan cast the video site to the TV and opened the comments at the same time.
Right from the start, the screen was so flooded with comments that it was almost impossible to see their faces. Everyone was hyped, eager to see their idols. It wasn’t until the opening credits ended that things got a little better.
The first scene was them in the hotel room.
Mu Nan was so nervous he couldn’t sit still, pacing back and forth in the room. Meanwhile, Cheng Han was as steady as a statue, even managing to take a nap.
With that side-by-side comparison, Mu Nan really looked a bit cowardly.
Then the official recording began. They were taken by bus to the haunted house, and the camera zoomed out for a wide shot. Out of nowhere, Mu Nan suddenly dropped to his knees.
“Cramp, cramp.” His own shaky voice came out of the TV, and even now, Mu Nan still felt a little embarrassed listening to it.
Trying to distract from his embarrassment, he reached out to grab some meat from the spicy hot pot, but Cheng Han blocked his chopsticks.
“What are you doing?!” He shot him a glare, looking fierce. “You’re not even letting me eat now?”
Cheng Han didn’t say anything, just pointed at the mild mushroom broth.
“Control freak, fascist, mistreating me.” Mu Nan muttered in protest but still ended up dipping his chopsticks into the mushroom soup.
By this point, the comment section was already flooded with “hahahaha.”
Mu Nan was beyond frustrated. He just knew these fans were unreliable. They all acted so worried in the comments, but the moment he actually got scared, they laughed even harder than anyone else.
Fuming, he put his chopsticks down and went to the cabinet to grab a bottle of red wine.
He normally didn’t drink at all and even had a slight alcohol allergy. But people kept gifting him expensive wines, so he just stored them all in the cabinet.
Cheng Han saw him holding a bottle of wine, took it, glanced at the label, and said three words: “Wasting fine wine.”
Mu Nan glared at him. “Are you drinking or not?”
Cheng Han casually took the bottle, used the opener to pop the cork, but only poured Mu Nan a tiny bit—barely covering the bottom of the glass. Mu Nan held the glass and sipped slowly.
Soon, it was time for the haunted house scene. The moment Mu Nan placed his hand on Cheng Han’s shoulder, the comment section turned into a sea of pink.
[Double happiness, double happiness, double happiness]
[I’m done! My CP is having physical contact, they need to get married right now!]
[Top Stream CP is real! If I say it is, then it is!]
[What kind of “I’ll protect you” idol drama plot is this?!]
Seeing the comments, Mu Nan suddenly felt guilty. It was only the beginning, and the fans were already like this. By the time they got to the final scene, wouldn’t they just pass out?
But when they entered that room, the mood of the comments shifted.
[Quick, quick, quick, comments as protection! This is way too terrifying!]
[Starting off this strong? Can Nan Nan even handle this?]
[Wait… if he gets scared to death, what are we going do?]
Without hesitation, Cheng Han took off his blindfold. He still remembered how scared he had been at the time.
And sure enough, the program gave him a dramatic close-up of his pupils contracting, with giant bold text on the screen: “Pupil Quake.”
Seeing this, Mu Nan laughed so hard he nearly fell over. “Hahaha, so you were scared too! Serves you right! You were scaring me on purpose, and I actually thought you weren’t scared at all.”
But soon, his laughter stopped. Because compared to his own panicked screaming and chaotic escape, Cheng Han’s reaction really did look calm.
Mu Nan: …
He buried his head in his food again, trying to reach for the spicy hot pot. But this time, Cheng Han didn’t even look at him, yet somehow still managed to block his chopsticks with pinpoint accuracy.
Mu Nan: “Do you have eyes on the back of your head or something?”
After a few rounds of being scared, Mu Nan visibly toughened up. He even managed to take care of Ai Qian Qian while they were paired together, stepping ahead to shield her.
However, at this point, the comments started to get a little… off.
[Does no one think Cheng Han is being mean? Mu Nan got a cramp and he just laughed. He knows Mu Nan is scared, yet he keeps scaring him on purpose.]
[So, by that logic, Mu Nan isn’t at fault? He’s scared but insists on clinging to Cheng Han. Why don’t you talk about how he’s affecting the show’s recording?]
[CP fans, take it easy. Everyone knows these two don’t get along. No need to force a ship, it’s disgusting.]
Mu Nan ignored those selectively. But before long, Ai Qian Qian’s actions completely overshadowed any potential arguments.
When they reached the ghost-filled room, Mu Nan subconsciously held his breath.
Even though he knew exactly what was going to happen, when the cabinet door swung open, he still sucked in a sharp breath.
With both of them screaming, the comment section exploded.
