Chapter 5.2

Editor: Jodi

After ending the ‘friendly’ discussion, they finally settled on a direction for the choreography. Next, they each had to go home to learn the song as well as the German lyrics.

But tonight, they had another unavoidable task— that was to go to Mu Nan’s family house.

They hadn’t been able to go there yesterday successfully. And Mother Mu had called him over a dozen times, threatening to personally come over if Cheng Han wasn’t brought back today.

And to avoid a repeat of last night’s situation, they decided to each take a car back to Mu Nan’s family house today. Mu Nan was very satisfied with this arrangement, and as it was an hour’s drive to his family house, he used this time to study German vocabulary as well as listen to songs, causing it to pass quickly.

Getting out of his car a short distance away from the house, Mu Nan waited for Cheng Han to arrive so they could enter together in order to avoid his mother’s endless nagging.

Two minutes later, Cheng Han got out of the car and reached out a hand to him, “Shall we?”

“What are you doing?” Mu Nan asked with disgust.

“There’s no need to act?” Cheng Han raised an eyebrow.

Mu Nan looked at his hand, then at the front door, hesitated for ten seconds, then grabbed it decisively. After all, compared to his mom’s roaring at home, holding hands was at least not a matter of life and death.

Since their ‘marriage’, this was the first time Mu Nan had held Cheng Han’s hand, and to his surprise, Cheng Han’s hand was warm, a far cry from his outwardly cold demeanor.

Before Mu Nan could think too much, Cheng Han had already pressed the doorbell.

And the one who opened the door was Mu Nan’s family’s house help, “Young masters are back.”

“Hello, Aunt Gu. Are mom and dad at home?” Mu Nan held Cheng Han’s hand stiffly, his fingertips already tense.

“Your dad’s not here.” Mother Mu walked out from the living room, complaining as she walked, “A last-minute dinner came up again with that company from Singapore. Just a few hundred million and they keep trying to cause trouble.”

After washing his hands, Mu Nan added casually, “Dad probably has strategic considerations.”

“Strategic considerations? Strategic considerations? You still understand strategy? Instead of staying at your own company, you go and sing and dance for others. That’s your strategy?” Mother Mu started ranting, leaving Mu Nan too intimidated to argue back, so he could only roll his eyes silently.

Then when Mother Mu saw Cheng Han, she continued, “Fortunately Xiao Cheng takes care of you. You’re about the same age, so why is he so mature, while you’re still so childish?”

“Him? Mature?” Mu Nan suspected that it was either he that was crazy or that his mother was crazy. How was this person who argued with him all the time mature?

“Alright, let’s eat.” Mother Mu finally ended her rant, allowing Mu Nan to breathe a sigh of relief.

Then at the dinner table, she kept harping on about their marriage situation, “You two should take care of each other. I heard you haven’t moved in together yet? That won’t do, how can a couple not cultivate their relationship?”

Mu Nan played with his food boredly, tuning his mother’s words out while Cheng Han remained serious, occasionally nodding along.

“Tsk.” Mu Nan muttered under his breath, but Mother Mu had sharp ears and so heard it.

“Hey, what’s with that attitude? Are you tired of hearing me talk? Or do you not like what I’m saying?”

Mu Nan: “I’m not…”

Cheng Han kicked his foot under the table, silencing him. “Auntie, don’t be angry. Xiao Nan didn’t mean that. We’re both busy with work, so it’s not very convenient to move in together for now. We will take it slow.”

“Fine, fine, fine, do whatever you want. Young people nowadays, I really don’t understand.”

Mother Mu seemed fixated on getting the two children to love each other, as she seized every opportunity to talk about it, causing the meal to end on a less than happy note.

When they left, their respective assistants took them home. However before getting into his car, Cheng Han said, “What your mother said today….”

“Don’t even think about it!” Mu Nan’s eyes widened immediately, “Let me tell you, us living together is impossible, absolutely impossible, so you better drop that idea now.”

Cheng Han relaxed immediately, shrugging, “Fine, agreed.”

Then the moment he finished saying this, he swung his long legs into his car, then it sped off, leaving Mu Nan in a cloud of exhaust fumes.

Mu Nan: &%#@!
