Chapter 77.2

As soon as Xu Luoyang finished his domestic work, it was time for him to join the crew of ‘Turn Back Time’. Zheng Dong had already arrived in E Country a step ahead of him to handle the contract details.

Joining a crew was like moving house. However Xu Luoyang was used to it and usually didn’t take much with him. But this time Qi Chang’an had offered to help him pack his luggage, so he agreed, and while observing from the sidelines, he got to know what it really meant to move house.

“Chang’an, why do I get the feeling that you want to pack up the entire house and have me carry it with me?” He sat on a chair with his legs apart, his chin resting on the back of the chair as he watched Qi Chang’an help him pack his luggage.

Qi Chang’an was helping him choose the clothes to take, and hearing him saying this, he responded, “Not only do I want to pack up the entire house, I even want to pack myself up so you can take me with you.”

Caught off guard by the intense 10,000 love words attack from Qi Chang’an, Xu Luoyang, who still hadn’t cultivated a calm heart, had his heart race uncontrollably a few times.

Afterwards, he couldn’t help but start going on again, “You’re going on a business trip the day after tomorrow. You have to take all your medications. I’m not going to be with you, so let Liang Qiu live next door to you so it will be convenient to contact him if anything happens. Also, if you’re not feeling well, don’t push yourself too hard…..”

After rattling off a lot of concerns, looking at Qi Chang’an who was currently organizing the fourth suitcase for him, Xu Luoyang couldn’t help but smile— no one had packed his suitcase so meticulously for a long time. It was very obvious they were both worried about each other.

“I’ll calculate the time difference and call you to remind you to take your medicine and to eat.”

Standing up, Qi Chang’an reached out to pinch his chin, “Okay, if you miss me, remember to call me.”

“That won’t do.” Xu Luoyang tilted his chin for him to pinch, mumbling, “If I call you whenever I miss you, I might have to stay on the phone 24 hours a day.”

However, on the first day Xu Luoyang arrived in E Country with eight suitcases, he was so busy that he was dizzy.

He had always felt before that Director Zhang liked to polish the lens and film slowly, while Director Chu liked to have sudden inspirations and add scenes impulsively, which also resulted in slow filming. However when it came to Meng Huazhang, he realized that there might be some commonalities among geniuses. Director Meng was the perfect combination of ‘adding scenes impulsively’ and ‘polishing the lens’! Moreover, although he was already in his sixties, he was extremely energetic. Once he entered the filming state, he became a completely different person.

Xu Luoyang was very resilient and could withstand the grind. In the first few days after he joined the crew, it felt like he was shedding a layer of skin, however in less than a week, he had adapted fully. In addition, although he had never filmed a movie abroad, he had attended University in E Country, hence there were no issues with him not being able to adapt to the climate.

After being pulled by Meng Huazhang to revise the lines, it was already 9 PM. Covering his mouth, he yawned, “Director Meng, I really can’t hold on anymore, I’m too sleepy! If you don’t let me go back, I’ll definitely forget my lines tomorrow and NG!”

Meng Huazhang laughed at him, “You’re still so young, how come your body is so weak?”

After a month of interaction, Xu Luoyang had already become familiar with him, and so said with a smile, “You see, I’m still so young, it’s the time for me to grow. Why don’t you be merciful today and let me go back to sleep?”

Meng Huazhang capped his pen, his eyes clear but with a hint of mischief in it, “I can let you go, but when you go back, you might not be able to sleep.”

Unable to resist another yawn, Xu Luoyang’s slow brain didn’t catch on, “Why? Is it that the bed in my room has collapsed and so can’t be slept on?”

“The bed didn’t collapse, it’s someone who came a long way to see you.”

Xu Luoyang was stunned for a few seconds, then suddenly stood up, stuttering, “Who are you talking about? Who….. who came to see me?”

Seeing the smile on Meng Huazhang’s face, he understood and turned to run out, but before he reached the door, he was stopped by Meng Huazhang, “I’ll give you a half day off tomorrow. We’ll start filming at three in the afternoon.”

Xu Luoyang’s smile was dazzling, “Thank you, Director Meng! For your great kindness, I’ll let Chang’an repay you!”

The treatment in the crew was really good. Because they were filming the university campus scenes, Xu Luoyang got a small white building in the residential area outside the school that the crew had rented; it was already over a hundred years old.

And because the first floor was poorly lit and very humid, Xu Luoyang carried his luggage and moved into the attic on the second floor.

Panting, he opened the door, only to see a pair of black leather shoes at the door— they were Qi Chang’an’s, and he had bought them.

Confirming that he was really there, half of the stone in Xu Luoyang’s heart fell. Locking the door gently, he took a deep breath, then walked upstairs quickly.

When he got to the second floor, he saw someone he was extremely familiar with sitting by the desk. However at this moment, he suddenly didn’t dare walk forward, so he stood in place, watching Qi Chang’an almost greedily.

Compared to a month ago, his hairstyle had changed, and his hair had grown a little. He was still wearing his usual white shirt, with the top two buttons of the shirt’s collar undone, revealing the necklace inside.

Xu Luoyang knew that hanging on the necklace was the ring he had given him, while he was wearing the ring with the word ‘Chang’an’ that he had engraved on it with his own hand.

Qi Chang’an was looking at something, yet as if he sensed something, he turned his head to look over, and his originally dark pupils looked liked they were instantly filled with stars.

Having confirmed that the person was in front of him, Xu Luoyang wasn’t in a hurry to go over. Instead, he leaned against the frame of the door and said, “You’ve lost weight.” Compared to before, the speed at which he spoke was much slower.

“En, I’ve lost weight.” Qi Chang’an put down what he was holding, stood up, and opened his arms towards Xu Luoyang.

Xu Luoyang paused for two seconds, and then unable to control himself, pounced on him with so much force that it knocked Qi Chang’an back two steps.

With his heart beating particularly fast, he lifted his head to kiss Qi Chang’an’s chin. This small move was as if he had ignited a fire, as he found himself being picked up and placed directly on the desk and the two of them not in the mood for talking, started kissing immediately.

A month’s worth of accumulated longing and desire was revealed to the two of them without reserve between their entwining lips and tongues, both of them unstoppable in their eagerness and intensity that in the end, it was Qi Chang’an’s self-control that came into play. Sitting back down in the chair, he placed Xu Luoyang on his lap.

After cuddling for a while, Xu Luoyang heard Qi Chang’an ask him, “Has the situation you told me about before gotten better?”

Hearing this question, Xu Luoyang sat up a little straighter. He hesitated for a moment, but still spoke, “It hasn’t gotten better, it’s even worse.” Then he forced a smile, “Did you rush over here because you’re worried about me?”

“Mhmm, I’m very worried.” Qi Chang’an looked into his eyes, “Are you scared?”

“I am.” Xu Luoyang shrank back a little, playing with his fingers, “Today when I finished filming, I wasn’t able to come out of it for a long time and as I sat on the lawn, I really felt like I was You Su, the character I’m playing.”

Qi Chang’an kissed his forehead, “And then?”

“This feeling is terrifying. It’s as if I’m being dominated by another personality, or rather way, it’s as if there’s an extra soul belonging to You Su in my body. Director Meng also said that I’ve been losing control of my feelings for my character these past few days, that I’m too expressive.” His tone was distressed, “When I started acting before, I couldn’t connect with the emotions of the character and my interpretation was too dry. But now, I didn’t expect that the situation would be the complete opposite.”

“What’s Meng Huazhang’s attitude?”

“He’s very patient. He asked me to try and adjust myself.”

Qi Chang’an patted his back gently, “Actually, the reason why I came this time is because Meng Huazhang contacted me, hoping I could come and see you. The character You Su has rather complex emotions, and once you’re immersed in it, it’s easy to get stuck.”

Xu Luoyang was also distressed about his own condition, but he had always been optimistic. He leaned in to kiss the corner of Qi Chang’an’s lips, “Actually, seeing you, I inexplicably feel at ease. No matter what, I’m your Nao Nao.”

“En, my Nao Nao, who makes my heart worry.”

Xu Nao Nao’s little emotions:

Now that you’re here, I’m not afraid.
