Chapter 15.2

“It has been decided. It’s called ‘Divergent Road’.”

Xu Luoyang and Qi Chang’an looked at each other, thinking that Xu Zhan and Qin Chao in the play were indeed slowly going down completely divergent paths and that their lives would never converge together again. An indescribable sadness — from the emotions the characters had given them, flooded their hearts.

“The second thing is that the contract has come into my hands.”

Xu Luoyang was lost, “What contract?”

“The contract for the film’s end credits… I think Director Zhang mentioned it to you, right? I’ve looked it over and there’s nothing wrong with it so you should sign it while you’re here later after dinner.”

Thinking back to the barbecue they had had, he remembered that Director Zhang did mention it so Xu Luoyang agreed.

“The last thing is, are you two going to take down the hot search? If we decide not to hype a CP we’ll try to avoid that.”

If it did well, both sides would benefit and their popularity would rise together. If it went wrong and they lost popularity, not to mention that fans from both sides would be at each other’s throats and the two people could become enemies.

This time, he found that Xu Luoyang and Qi Chang’an were getting along very well and had become friends, so Zheng Dong wanted to avoid this risk as much as possible.

Xu Luoyang didn’t make a decision directly but asked Qi Chang’an, “What do you think?”

Qi Chang’an originally wanted to say ‘I didn’t mind’, but what came out was, “It will look too deliberate if it is taken down. It’s originally a spontaneous act by the fans so why don’t we just go with the flow, what do you think?” The last sentence was directed at Xu Luoyang.

“Hmm, I agree!”

Zheng Dong nodded, “Okay then, I’ll go back and contact your agent.”

The attitude towards the “Gu Cheng CP” was set in stone.

After breakfast Qi Chang’an consciously went to the kitchen to wash the dishes.

Zheng Dong subconsciously relaxed a bit and moved closer to Xu Luoyang again to talk, “You and Qi Chang’an get along quite well?”

“Yes. He’s very nice and has helped me out a few times.” Xu Luoyang tilted his head to look at Qi Chang’an who was washing dishes in the kitchen and suddenly remembered the look on Qi Chang’an’s face last night when he talked about his parents’ anniversary.

Xu Luoyang didn’t know how to explain this vague feeling in his heart so he could only interpret it for the time being that it was because he, like Qi Chang’an, had lost both his parents, causing him to feel the same way.

Concerned about Xu Luoyang’s feelings Zheng Dong reminded him implicitly, “He shouldn’t be an ordinary person.”

The contact between he and Chang’an was short but Zheng Dong had a sharp eye for people.

Qi Chang’an was distant from people and there was a kind of deep-rooted upbringing in him that connected with the ability to beat the investors and Wu Bi. He was also very cold in nature, and Zheng Dong hadn’t been able to provoke any emotional changes in him throughout the whole process of talking, except for when he mentioned Xu Luoyang.

Zheng Dong was keenly aware that every time the subject of Xu Luoyang came up, Qi Chang’an would subconsciously divert some of his attention. And with Xu Luoyang, Qi Chang’an would say more, smile more and so on.

When Xu Luoyang heard Zheng Dong’s advice he said, “Hmm, he’s really not an ordinary person.” Qi Chang’an was a demon second generation who hid himself very well how could he be an ordinary person?

But keeping in mind that he had to help Qi Chang’an hide his identity well, Xu Luoyang quickly changed the topic.

As he still had things to do in the company, after he had finished explaining the things that needed to be explained, Zheng Dong was ready to leave, but before leaving he didn’t forget to say to Xu Luoyang, “Be modest, eat less or no meat, and have a sense of being an idol, okay? If you get fat, the costume designer will explode on the spot!”

Xu Luoyang, who had eaten a large meal consisting of fish and meat yesterday didn’t change his expression, “I will remember, don’t worry! And isn’t there Chang An who will supervise me.”

Qi Chang’an nodded, “Mm I’ll supervise Luoyang.”

Zheng Dong went away reassured.

It was after ten o’clock and Qi Chang’an was in his bedroom. After taking the medicine for his iris heterochromia, the side effects appeared very quickly, his eyes were dizzy and his forehead was swollen. He could only lie down on the bed, and in a short time he drifted off to sleep. In his dream, there was the gentle sound of a piano, as soft as spring water.

It was Xu Luoyang playing the piano.

When he came out of the bedroom, Qi Chang’an didn’t come closer, but just looked at Xu Luoyang sitting on the piano bench, who was concentrating. He seemed to be arranging a piece of music that was not yet coherent, but every now and then he would play a small piece of complete music that would remind people of the hot summer day, the cramped sky in the alleyway, the despair of having all hopes destroyed.

The piano was placed near the balcony, and the window was open, probably because there was a lake just below, the breeze coming in was tinged with moisture.

Qi Chang’an remembered that the small stone he had thrown out last night had probably fallen into the lake.

In the past few years, he had been unable to control his negative emotions on the day of his parents’ anniversary. So, the moment Xu Luoyang asked him if he had a place to stay yesterday, a strong longing came up in his heart…

He didn’t want to be alone anymore. He wanted to be near him.

The hug on the balcony, the two stones handed to him, were like sharp edges cutting through the clouds that had accumulated over the years.

Xu Luoyang was like a flame of fire.

Qi Chang’an lightened his steps and walked towards him.
