Chapter 68

Around ten o’clock in the evening, the birthday banquet specially prepared for Yu Pei was coming to an end.

Sugar Maple Resort was a vacation mountain villa. During National Day, there were usually many guests staying here, but Father and Mother Luo had cleared out many rooms to give Yu Pei a peaceful birthday celebration. After the birthday party dispersed, Father and Mother Luo took Yu Qing and Gu Zheng to the rooms specially reserved for them.

Yu Pei followed beside Luo Changzhou. Seeing that everyone had left but Luo Changzhou hadn’t moved yet, he asked, “Changzhou, where are we staying tonight?”

“Do you still remember that place I took you to the day I confessed?” Luo Changzhou lowered his head and asked softly in his ear.

Yu Pei definitely wouldn’t forget that place: “I remember.”

Luo Changzhou smiled and said, “Our little cabin is finished. Would you like me to take you to see it?”

Yu Pei said, “Sure.”

“Then let’s go.” Luo Changzhou held his fingers and led him down a very secluded path. This path seemed to go directly from Sugar Maple Resort to the little cabin on the back mountain. It was carefully paved with pebbles, creating a small trail, and at the end of the path was the place Luo Changzhou had taken him to before.

However, at that time there had only been a pile of construction lumber, with weeds growing all around, but now that lumber had been transformed into a simple little wooden cabin. It was carefully enclosed with white wooden fencing to create a small yard, with many flowering shrubs planted around it, as well as several trees.

Yu Pei looked at those trees, which didn’t look like the maple trees from down the mountain. As a pampered young master who couldn’t distinguish between different grains, he had no idea what kind of trees these were, so he asked Luo Changzhou: “Changzhou, what kind of trees are these?”

“Pear trees.” Luo Changzhou walked to his side and told him, “Didn’t you say that when pear trees bloom, they look like snow? I can’t take you to see real snow right now, so I could only plant some trees.”

After saying this, Luo Changzhou touched the shrubs beside the fence with his hand and said, “These are all salmon berry bushes. They grow quite quickly – we should be able to eat the fruit by next year.”

Yu Pei looked at those small shrubs, seeming to envision how they would bloom with small flowers and bear bright, sweet-and-sour fruit next year. Just like his current life, they were full of hope.

Luo Changzhou let him look for a while, then pulled him toward the house: “Come in and take a look.”

Luo Changzhou must have really put his heart into building this house. Although the house wasn’t large, it had everything needed. While the cabin didn’t have a living room, it had a cozy double bedroom with a fireplace built for winter warmth.

When they entered, the house was still dark. As soon as Luo Changzhou pressed the light switch, the entire room lit up. The lights were warm yellow, and many star-like string lights hung from the ceiling, cascading down and casting warm light that seemed to carry cozy warmth.

Next to the large wooden window, Luo Changzhou had made a wooden shelf. The shelf was currently empty, but the metal easel beside it seemed to clearly indicate its purpose.

“This shelf is for you to use. You can put your painting supplies and tools here in the future.”

“This house was finished some time ago, but it was never decorated because I didn’t know what style you’d like.” Luo Changzhou said, bending down to gently touch Yu Pei’s nose with his own. “Later when you got sick and I went to your house to see you, I secretly noted the style of your room, and only then did I finish the little cabin, so now I dare bring you here.”

Yu Pei stared at him in a daze. The light falling from the ceiling’s small lamps was like the color of sunset afterglow, soft and warm as if filled with temperature. Those rays fell into Luo Changzhou’s deep blue eyes, creating sunset-like gentle halos of varying depths, as if they were about to overflow.

Luo Changzhou’s gaze toward him was deep and gentle, filled completely with his reflection. Yu Pei felt that he had never seen a more beautiful pair of eyes in his entire life.

“Do you like it here, Ah Pei?” Luo Changzhou asked him.

“I like it.” Yu Pei answered, his voice a bit hoarse.

“Then shall we be together forever?”

“Yes.”

Luo Changzhou said one thing, and Yu Pei answered. But as he answered, his eyelashes drooped lower and lower, his head also lowered more and more, until finally he only showed Luo Changzhou a soft back of his head. Luo Changzhou smiled, lowered his head to gently kiss the hair whorl on top of his head, then also lowered his head to seek Yu Pei’s lips.

He had thought Yu Pei would be somewhat shy, but as soon as he barely touched Yu Pei’s lips, the young man obediently parted his lips.

“It’s so good to have met you…” Yu Pei pressed against his lips and murmured softly.

Luo Changzhou was stunned and moved slightly away from Yu Pei’s lips, because given Yu Pei’s reserved and introverted nature, he had originally thought Yu Pei probably wouldn’t say such things.

He raised his hand to gently stroke Yu Pei’s hair, smiling as he asked, “Why are you suddenly saying this? Shouldn’t you say you like me?”

“Mm, I like you.” Yu Pei also raised his arms to embrace his neck. “When we met, and even before that, I wanted to tell you for a long time.”

Luo Changzhou sighed, his heart filled with satisfaction so full it almost overflowed from his heart and filled every corner of his soul.

Yu Pei embraced him and suddenly took the initiative to kiss Luo Changzhou’s neck.

Luo Changzhou had a faint woody fragrance. Yu Pei hadn’t known before why he had such a scent, but after coming to Sugar Maple Resort, he roughly understood it was because Luo Changzhou often walked among the sugar maple trees. Being so close to Luo Changzhou, he seemed to have picked up quite a bit of this scent himself. Gentle and reserved, like autumn sugar maple trees.

His and Luo Changzhou’s souls had become infinitely close. They fit together perfectly without any gaps, and after this spiritual resonance, perhaps there would be some physical response as well.

Yu Pei held Luo Changzhou’s neck, remembering the few times Luo Changzhou had kissed him before. Their breathing intertwined, and even their heartbeats seemed to be at the same frequency. He seemed to have developed skin hunger, unsatisfied with embracing Luo Changzhou through two layers of clothing. He wanted a closer connection without barriers, like their souls.

So Luo Changzhou’s shirt was quickly lifted by Yu Pei. He reached inside Luo Changzhou’s clothes, exploring every muscle around his waist and slowly moving downward.

Yu Pei’s body temperature was always on the low side, and his fingers were always slightly cool. When touched by his hand, the muscles on Luo Changzhou’s body immediately tensed up. He probably hadn’t expected Yu Pei to be so proactive. Only when Yu Pei’s hand touched the edge of his underwear did he react, grabbing Yu Pei’s wrist: “Ah Pei?”

“Mm?” Yu Pei looked up at him. The area around his eyes was a bit red, his lips were also a beautiful crimson color, with some moisture left from their recent kissing. In the warm light, they seemed to reflect an alluring glow that easily caught all of Luo Changzhou’s attention. His slender eyelashes trembled slightly, the look in his eyes wandering shyly, yet very determined.

After responding, Yu Pei saw that Luo Changzhou didn’t speak and tried again to break free from Luo Changzhou’s restraint to continue his restless behavior.

Luo Changzhou liked Yu Pei, very much, so with Yu Pei treating him this way, it was impossible for him to have no reaction at all. But he was concerned about Yu Pei’s body. He knew Yu Pei wasn’t in the best health. He had asthma and a weak constitution, so he had never thought about having this kind of relationship so soon, and naturally hadn’t made any preparations in the little cabin.

Under these circumstances, it really wasn’t appropriate for him to do anything with Yu Pei, so he once again gently moved Yu Pei’s hand away and said euphemistically, “Ah Pei… we don’t have anything here.”

“We do.” Yu Pei also smiled, his cheeks flushed with rose-colored pink. “There’s a bed here.”

Luo Changzhou was helpless, thinking Yu Pei hadn’t understood his hint. He raised an eyebrow and was about to continue speaking, but Yu Pei was rarely forceful, pushing Luo Changzhou down onto the bed.

The solid wooden bed made a muffled, soft sound. The soft mattress sank down and bounced back up slightly. Yu Pei pressed his hands on Luo Changzhou’s shoulders, quickly kicked off his slippers, straddled Luo Changzhou’s waist on both sides, then bent down, lying on Luo Changzhou’s chest to kiss his lips.

In his entire life, Yu Pei had never done anything so proactive with anyone except Luo Changzhou. But perhaps the dopamine released in the brain during passionate love really could make one lose reason, because looking into Luo Changzhou’s eyes, he felt his love for him simply couldn’t be expressed in words. It was tightly blocked up in his heart, and he needed some outlet to release all this affection.

This season was not only not cold, it was even a bit warm. Everyone wasn’t wearing much clothing, so when Luo Changzhou fell onto the bed, his shirt had almost come undone, his pants had also been pulled down quite a bit by Yu Pei. The remaining thin layer of fabric couldn’t hide much, and the honest reaction underneath had long betrayed him, exposing his true thoughts.

Yu Pei, straddling him, still had his clothes neat and tidy, but somehow Luo Changzhou felt this Yu Pei had an indescribable allure. He looked at Yu Pei somewhat dazedly, his hand unconsciously caressing Yu Pei’s waist. Only when he touched Yu Pei’s supple waist did he snap back to awareness, gently pressing down on Yu Pei’s hands that were undressing him, saying helplessly: “Ah Pei, you…”

Hearing him speak, Yu Pei’s hands that had been continuing to pull at his clothes loosened. He pulled his hands back, crossed his arms to grab the hem of his own shirt, then pulled upward, removing the entire garment from his body.

The proportioned, pale body beneath the clothing was gradually exposed in the soft, warm light as the covering was removed. Perhaps because of the sudden contact with the somewhat cool air, his body also tensed up. A young man’s body was often the most alluring, because flesh and bone are filled with rich vitality. That flawless, snow-white skin seemed to be gilded with an alluring color in the ambiguous light, attracting one to want to place hands on it for gentle caressing.

“Changzhou…” Yu Pei half-closed his eyelashes, his arms supporting himself on either side of Luo Changzhou’s head. His originally clear, clean voice carried some huskiness, that tone familiar to every man, polished by desire.
