Chapter 22 Giving the model away
As the two came out, they sent a message to the youth who had brought them here earlier, informing him that they were leaving.
A short while later, the youth came over and looked at the two of them. “Did the calculations go well?”
“It went well. Thank you, senior.” Yan Hao replied politely.
“That’s good. Let’s go then, I’ll walk you down.” Saying this, the youth turned around and walked out.
All elevators above the ninth floor required the swipe of a card whether going up or down.
So the youth led the two to the elevator, swiped his card, and when the elevator closed, he turned around and went back to the room where the Super light brain was placed. He rebooted the Super light brain, operated it briefly, and then gave a soft chuckle: “The traces have been cleared? Is this because he’s afraid we’ll peek at his calculation formula? These two students, their calculations aren’t difficult, but they are quite cautious.”
Yan Hao and He Shao had only been in this room for about an hour, so they could only do one calculation in that amount of time and it must have been a single calculation of either a super simple formula, or a formula that had already been proven to be successful, just to build a model, otherwise that one single calculation wouldn’t have been successful. Hence the youth concluded that the formula that Yan Hao and He Shao had just calculated was definitely not one that was too difficult.
After coming out, Yan Hao sent a message to Sheng Heng, asking him to come find him when he returned to the school.
After that, he stayed in the lab with He Shao, continuing to do research on the mecha.
Yan Hao was very focused when he was researching, and when he came across a problem, his mind would spin rapidly and he would think of some long-term solutions, and an hour or two would pass before he would returned to his senses. And as he was interested in mecha, he would approach it one problem at a time, causing time to fly by.
When He Shao first discovered this trait in Yan Hao, he would still call him to eat on time, but there were times where when Yan Hao was interrupted in the middle of his thinking, even though he would follow him to eat, he would frequently become dazed again while eating. After this happened a number of times, He Shao noted to himself that if Yan Hao was deep in thought, he wouldn’t bother him anymore, but would instead bring him a portion of the meal and put it in the lab’s thermos, which he would then give to him when he was hungry.
At ten o’clock in the evening.
He Shao was a little sleepy and thinking that he had a class in the morning, was wondering if he should call Yan Hao, who was deep in thought, when Yan Hao’s light brain suddenly rang. Someone was video calling him.
Yan Hao snapped back to his senses and picked it up. Sheng Heng’s voice came from the other end of the light brain: “I’m at the entrance of the school, are you in the dormitory? I’m on my way up to you.”
Yan Hao replied hastily, “I’m in the lab.”
“Then wait for me for a while, I’ll be there in five minutes.” Sheng Heng told him.
“Okay.”
After hanging up, Yan Hao put the mech away and turned to He Shao, “He Shao, it’s already ten o’clock, let’s go back.”
The sleepy He Shao was so happy that he immediately threw away the half-finished energy block in his hand and stood up to leave.
“Why don’t you finish it before we leave? You’re just left with a few minutes.” Yan Hao had OCD and couldn’t stand to see something that was half done being put down.
“No way.” He Shao said, “For you it’s a few minutes, but for me it’s at least half an hour.”
Although he was the god of learning’s roommate, he wasn’t the god of learning himself and couldn’t reach his speed in making energy blocks.
And although Yan Hao had OCD, the good thing was that he didn’t force others, so hearing He Shao say this, he didn’t say anything more and packed up his things. The two of them exited the lab, stood at the door and waited for Sheng Heng to come over.
“Sheng Heng wants to see you for something?” He Shao asked casually.
“I’m the one who’s looking for him.” Yan Hao shook his head.
“Is it for something very important?” Remembering what he had heard Cheng Wenkang say this afternoon about Sheng Heng looking for sedatives for his big brother, He Shao couldn’t help but say, “Isn’t senior Sheng Heng looking for sedatives for his big brother? He must be quite busy these two days, so if it’s not an important issue it’s best to look for him in a couple of days time, or you can tell me and I’ll help you.”
“It’s no trouble, I just want to give him something.” Yan Hao shook his head.
He Shao smiled, then didn’t say anything.
Not long after, Sheng Heng’s figure appeared in front of the two. He was wearing civilian clothes and his face was full of fatigue, but when he saw the two of them he still smiled politely, however the smile was quite forced.
“Sorry for keeping you guys waiting.” Sheng Heng apologized.
“Not at all, we just came out.” Yan Hao said.
“Why did you want to see me?” Sheng Heng was a bit tired, so he didn’t exchange pleasantries. If it was usual, with Yan Hao suddenly taking the initiative to look for him, he would have definitely asked more questions.
“I built a data model with He Shao today, and I want to give it to you.” Yan Hao said without hesitation.
He Shao, who was silently working as a backdrop on the side raised his head when he heard this.
The data model that he worked on with him today, wasn’t it the one that was calculated with the Super light brain this afternoon? It seemed to be a formula related to medicine, right? Why would Yan Hao give this formula to Sheng Heng?
Thoughts flew through He Shao’s mind and in the blink of an eye, he had come up with a lot of things.
“Data model?” Sheng Heng also froze at his words. Why did Yan Hao want to give him a data model?
“This is the method of making level six to level eight sedatives.” Yan Hao added.
“What?!” Sheng Heng shouted in surprise.
He Shao who was on the side wanted to shout as well.
No wonder, no wonder Yan Hao suddenly proposed to use the Super light brain after hearing Cheng Wenkang say that Sheng Heng was looking for level six sedatives. Was it really for Sheng Heng? Moreover, this was actually a production data model of a level six to level eight sedative?
“This model is refined and summarized based on the formula published by Professor Sun of the Pharmacy Department. According to this model, the success rate of making the sedative is more than 80%.” Yan Hao continued.
“What?!” This time it was He Shao who shouted out. He was really too surprised.
What did an 80% success rate mean? At a time when the chances of success for level 6 sedatives were only 30% on average, the birth of this data model could almost turn the entire pharmaceutical market around in one fell swoop.
This was directly turning the scarcity of commodities into a bulk commodity of handmade products, an assembly line type mass production. Although the price of sedatives might be reduced rapidly, for humans, especially the front-line soldiers, this was an absolute boon.
If you still don’t understand, I’ll give you another example. It’s just like in ancient times, where a cold can kill you and suddenly one day someone invents cold medicine and a few yuan can buy this life-saving medicine. It was simply a miracle.
“Hasn’t Professor Sun himself been unable to make a model even after publishing it on the StarNet for many years?” It wasn’t that Sheng Heng didn’t believe Yan Hao, but this matter was too unbelievable and too important, so he had to ask.
When Yan Hao decided to give the formula model to Sheng Heng, he had already thought of his words in advance, so he said, “You know that I used to study pharmacy… and before that, I also wanted to be Professor Sun’s student if I was admitted to the Federal University, so a long time ago I followed Professor Sun’s formula on sedatives online and studied it for a long time. But then I chose the Mecha Department and let go of this matter.”
“At noon today, I heard from Senior Cheng that the Federation is now short of advanced sedatives, so I came up with this data model. I’m not bad at math, and my previous research was similar to this, so I went to the school’s lab with He Shao this afternoon, borrowed the Super light brain, and the model was built.” Seemingly afraid that Sheng Heng wouldn’t believe him, Yan Hao emphasized again, “Although this model hasn’t been made into a physical object, I am ninety percent sure that it can be successful. You can take it to the Pharmacy Department and find a pharmacist to help you verify it.”
Yan Hao didn’t dare to say he was 100% sure, after all, this was the first time he had solved this data model in this life.
“Okay.” Sheng Heng’s gaze kept changing as he listened to Yan Hao’s explanation, then it eventually became calm.
When Yan Hao saw that Sheng Heng believed him, he sighed with relief, raised his hand and clicked on his light brain. “Then I’ll send the data model to your email now.”
There was a ding, and Sheng Heng knew that the data model had been sent to his email.
“If this formula really has an 80% success rate, are you really willing to give it to me? Do you know how much it’s worth?” Sheng Heng didn’t look at the data model first but asked Yan Hao this question.
“I don’t know how valuable it is, I only know that it can save many people. And to me, it’s just a formula that I solved.” Yan Hao wasn’t pretending to be noble, he really thought so.
In his last life, after he solved the formula, he had also given it to Professor Sun in such a frank manner, and although it was later that he got to know that this advanced sedative had caused a big fuss in the Federation, he never thought too specifically about it. Moreover the light of his unraveling the formula in the last life was soon replaced by Yan Fei’s moonflower herb.
Sheng Heng’s inquisitive gaze suddenly receded into a broad smile. Yes, anything more valuable would be nothing more than solving a formula for his little junior.
“Little junior, this data model is really important to me, so I’ll take it.” Sheng Heng affirmed. Yan Hao didn’t know its value, but he was incredibly clear, and because he was clear, he told him, “But don’t worry, I won’t let you suffer.”
“Senior has already helped me a lot.” For Yan Hao, Sheng Heng’s help to him was much more than this formula.
Sheng Heng smiled and continued, “I’m going to verify the model, let’s talk about other things later.”
It didn’t matter if Yan Hao didn’t understand it, he did anyway.
“Okay, please go ahead.” Yan Hao nodded obediently.
Sheng Heng was indeed anxious. His elder brother was at the front line, so he knew a bit more about the battle situation at the front line than ordinary people. If the matter of the sedatives wasn’t resolved as soon as possible, the front line might collapse. So, without a moment’s delay, he turned around and darted towards the Pharmacy Department next door.
“Let’s go, let’s go back and rest too.” Yan Hao turned his head to look at He Shao, who seemed to have frozen.
He Shao came back to his senses, glared at Yan Hao hotly then grabbed his shoulders with both hands and shook him frantically: “Ahhhhhh, the formula you calculated this afternoon is actually for making a level 6 sedative! Do you know how much it’s worth? And you just gave it away, you gave it away!!!”

Thank you for the new chapter!!
It’s sweet to see Sheng Heng remembering to watch out for Yan Hao’s interests, even when Yan Hao is clear that the formula is a gift.
It’s sad that in his 1st life, he didn’t get the recognition he deserved.
However, I’m glad now we’re sure he’ll get what he deserves and more
IKR…he literally got people hate whereas he’s the one who help the Federal Empire the most, that so depressing ☹️
But hopefully this time our lil boy is going to get the recognition is deserve !!!
At least he gave it to Sheng Heng, so he’ll probably negotiate on Hao Hao’s behalf. I hope.
What the hell, at least write a paper on the model first so you can get your due credit and quickly convince the people who are interested in it 😭
As someone who went to grad school, it angers me so much to see A professor screw over a student by denying their contribution to a project. Professor Sun knew that without the data model, the moonflower solution wouldn’t work. But he still screwed the student out of credit for their contribution.
