Chapter 49

The day after tomorrow was Mid-Autumn Festival. Shen You needed to drive home for a visit, so she had to finish everything beforehand.

It wasn’t raining in the modern world – the weather was excellent. Several antique shop owners came by to deliver mooncakes. Jiang He also made a personal visit.

Mr. Zhang also sent his secretary with a box that looked very expensive – the type one couldn’t even find online, like a special supply product. Fortunately, she had Great Qi tea leaves to offer in return.

She also needed to go out to deliver mooncakes. From the antique street to Professor Li’s house, she brought some tea leaves for Professor Li as well.

Professor Li and his wife wanted to keep her for dinner, but since she hadn’t finished her deliveries, so she could only promise to visit again after the festival.

After making the rounds, not only had the mooncakes at home not decreased, there were actually more.

Shen You exclaimed in amazement.

She decided to take the delicious and expensive ones home to eat with her parents, while giving the flavors she didn’t particularly like to her parents for distributing to relatives and neighbors.

While packing her things, she received a call from Old Master Xu.

The old man knew she was preparing to go home for the festival, so he wanted to invite her to see the porcelain he had mentioned last time. The Gu family siblings were going too.

An invitation from a big shot in the collecting circle was naturally something Shen You had to accept. She brought tea leaves and mooncakes as well.

Old Master Xu said he would send someone to pick her up. Xu Jiayan came, and after driving for over an hour, they chatted casually.

When they reached their destination, looking at the Chinese-style grand entrance that matched the scale of ancient noble family residences, although she had been mentally prepared, Shen You was still amazed.

This was both a residence and a private museum. She had only seen others mention this online before, but today she experienced it firsthand.

“Girl Shen is here! Come quickly and look at my flower pot.” Old Master Xu smiled kindly when he saw Shen You arrive, beckoning her over.

This was Shen You’s first time at a collector’s private museum, and it was eye-opening.

Old Master Xu was also delighted to explain, finally having met someone who wasn’t trying to flatter him by learning about antiques, but who was genuinely interested and could appreciate the exquisite craftsmanship. The old master was naturally happy to personally guide Shen You around.

The two could even guess the ages of the collection pieces together.

Gu Yue, who was following along, gradually found her smile becoming more forced. She couldn’t get a word in edgewise.

When she finally managed to say something, it was obvious that Grandpa Xu’s tone when answering her questions wasn’t as familiar as when he spoke with Shen You.

Turning to look at Xu Jiayan, she found him watching Shen You. Her heart felt even more blocked.

Originally, only Gu Shaoyyu had been invited today. She only received the invitation after calling. However it wonky after arriving that she learned that Old Master Xu was worried that Shen You might feel uncomfortable alone, so he had Xu Jiayan bring Gu Shaoyyu along.
