Chapter 138.2
Editor: Jodi
After the treatment plan was agreed upon, the execution of it was set for the next morning. There were two reasons for this: One, Old Wen needed to prepare certain medicines for the treatment, and two, Sheng Heng had been by Yan Hao’s side for two days with very little rest, and so needed to get a good night’s sleep in order to ensure that his mental energy was in optimal condition before they could start the treatment.
The next day arrived swiftly.
On this day, apart from Sheng Heng and Old Wen, only Ye Chen was allowed to remain in the ward to act as an assistant. The rest had to wait outside the ward so as not to disrupt the treatment.
Rong Xuehai looked at Ye Chen who was assisting inside and couldn’t help but feel jealous and envious, hating that his skills in Pharmacy weren’t sufficient enough for him to even be an assistant.
“The first cycle of the mental energy map is ready, and it looks relatively stable.” Ye Chen took a look at the testing device, then lifted his head to report.
“Good.” Old Wen nodded then handed a vial of elixir to Sheng Heng. “Drink this elixir.”
Not asking what sort of elixir it was, Sheng Heng took it and drank it.
“Are you clear about the instructions?”
“Yes.” Sheng Heng nodded.
“Then if you’re ready let’s begin.” Yan Hao’s condition was becoming dangerous with each day that they delayed, hence the treatment needed to start as soon as possible, and Sheng Heng understood this, hence he turned to Yan Hao almost immediately, and sitting down by the head of his bed, he leaned down slightly, and then gently, placed his forehead against Yan Hao’s.
The warm sensation Sheng Heng felt made him feel unusually comforted.
“Remember, never hurt Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness, even if he’s attacking you.” Old Wen reminded once more.
Sheng Heng didn’t respond. Instead, he just closed his eyes and allowed his mental energy to flow through from his forehead and into Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness gently. This was the person he loved; how could he possibly bear to hurt him?
If Sheng Heng’s mental energy was like a gentle stream, gradually seeping into Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness, then Yan Hao’s mental energy was like a raging hurricane, violent and powerful, because the moment Sheng Heng entered, he was hit fiercely by a towering wave, causing his body to tense up in response.
However resisting the assault of Yan Hao’s mental energy, he suppressed his own mental energy’s instinctive counterattack as well then waited quietly and patiently until he heard Old Wen’s voice, “It’s now, stimulate his mental energy.”
Sheng Heng’s mental energy immediately shot out like an arrow, slamming into the surging mental energy within Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness ruthlessly, and with a loud ‘boom’, the impacted mental energy that had been hit shivered, however it then doubled in size, then shot upward.
Sheng Heng followed closely, following as the mental energy surged upwards, however just as it was about to reach its peak threshold, he rushed over violently and stopped its ascent into the sky.
Then there was another violent impact. Sheng Heng’s mental energy trembled as if it wanted to exert more force to crush this mental energy, however he forced it back immediately, then used a strength that was equivalent to that of the current intensity of Yan Hao’s mental energy to resist.
This continued on for a full three hours until the tempest in Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness subsided slowly. By this point, Sheng Heng was already exhausted completely, and was only relying on his willpower to resist the hostility coming from all directions.
“I can’t fall asleep. If I do, my mental energy will instinctively counterattack and hurt Xiao Hao.” Sheng Heng kept telling himself this in his mind, waiting for the moment when Old Wen would call out to him.
Suddenly, the originally powerful hostility within Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness disappeared entirely, then the entire mental space froze for a moment, and then a gentle breeze, formed from mental energy, blew through then wrapped around Sheng Heng’s mental energy, going around it twice.
“Senior?” A familiar but uncertain voice sounded in Sheng Heng’s ears.
“Xiao Hao?” Sheng Heng’s mental energy trembled with excitement then with a blurring of his vision for a moment, his consciousness detached itself from Yan Hao’s sea of consciousness, and when he opened his eyes, the first thing he saw were a pair of familiar eyes looking at him intently without blinking.
“Senior?” Yan Hao called out softly.
“Xiao Hao.” Sheng Heng let out a long breath then hugged Yan Hao tightly. “You’ve finally woken up.”
When Old Wen and Ye Chen, who were standing on the side saw this, they exchanged a glance then left the ward quietly.
