Chapter 153.1 The future of the Federation

Editor: Jodi

“You’re not allowed to call Senior a soft rice eater. Senior is a warrior who guards the Federation, and every bit of military merit that he has was earned by him killing zergs.” When Yan Hao, who had never liked others calling Sheng Heng a soft rice eater saw the special-effect-laden pop-up comment from just now, he couldn’t help but shout at the camera.

His shout stunned everyone both inside and outside the live broadcast room, especially Sheng Heng, and seeing his serious expression, with his cheeks puffed up in anger as he helped him rectify his name, he felt an intense itch in his heart, wanting to kiss him passionately, however thinking that he would have to broadcast for a while, he could only restrain himself.

“Don’t mind them, they’re only calling me a soft rice eater because they’re jealous that I have such a great boyfriend like you, which just goes to show how excellent I am. Hurry up and finish the live broadcast so we can go back to the dorm together.” Sheng Heng coaxed softly.

“Okay.” Yan Hao, turning red because of Sheng Heng’s words ‘such a great boyfriend like you’, didn’t dwell on the soft rice eater matter anymore and sat up straight.

This, he was too easy to coax right? So soft and so cute.

This was the unanimous sentiment of the netizens who were watching the live broadcast but unable to send pop-ups. This damn soft rice eater, forget the fact that he was eating soft rice, even the one who was feeding him it was also so soft and cute. How could it not make one green with envy?

Yan Hao, oblivious to these thoughts glanced at the screen then started the live broadcast.

“Everyone has already seen the video just now, and I believe you are curious about the performance of the mech, so I’m going to now reveal the data of the mech.” And as he said this, a numerical value chart displaying the performance of the mech appeared on the screen, a performance chart which was infinitely close to that of a level nine mech, and although the netizens were amazed by the values on the chart, they weren’t surprised, as many had already guessed that the mech was most likely a level nine mech when the video came out. That was until they saw the mech’s level rating at the end.

Level seven mimetic mech.

[Level seven, how can it only be a level seven mimetic mech?]

They all couldn’t believe that such values could belong to a level seven mech.

If a level seven mech had such power, then what was there to fear from the zergs?

“As everyone can see, this is a level seven mimetic mech. To be precise, it is the first mech I made independently called Rebirth. Originally, it was just an ordinary level six mech, but now its performance is nearly equivalent to that of a traditional level nine mech. Everyone must be curious about why its performance is so high. This is because I discovered a new kind of ore.” The purpose of Yan Hao’s live broadcast today was to announce the existence of the phantom spirit stone.

After they had confirmed the use of the phantom spirit stone, Yan Hao and Old Pang prepared a report on its effects and then submitted it to the Federation’s ZF.

The phantom spirit stone could enhance the performance of a mech, but the extent to which it could be enhanced mainly depended on the Mech Builder’s mental energy level.

In other words, the higher the level of the mental energy injected in by the Mech Builder during the time of the mech’s creation, the more its performance would be boosted after a phantom spirit stone was used.

In the video, Rebirth’s performance hadn’t yet reached its highest level as Yan Hao’s mental energy had only been at the A+ level when he had been making Rebirth. Yet even so, Rebirth’s basic performance had improved by a whole level aside from the enhancements brought about as a result of it being a mimetic mech. A single level might not sound remarkable, but what if it were a level eight, nine, or even level ten mech?

The Federal ZF immediately realized the immense value of the phantom spirit stone.

What the military lacked the most were high level mechs, as the number of Mech Builders was much fewer than mech warriors, especially high level Mech Builders, as with each advancement in level, there was a steep decline in their numbers.

And in the entire Federation, there were only two level ten Mech Builders and no more than five level nine Mech Builders. There were significantly more level eight ones, but even those were limited to twenty.

Moreover mech building was a very physically and mentally demanding profession and not one where one could guarantee that a particular mech builder of a certain level could always make a mech of that very same level just because they were at that level, as the higher the level of the mech, the lower the rate of success.

Take Old Pang and Old Zhong for example. In their lifetimes, each of them had only made one level ten mech.

According to statistics, in the three major legions of the Federation, the one with the most level nine mech warriors was the Feng family with a total of four, and this wasn’t because they had few warriors capable of piloting level nine mechs, but that they only had four level nine mechs.

Each legion had about at least ten level eight mechs, and if these could be upgraded to level nine, then the Federation would achieve a qualitative leap in advanced combat power.

And so after considering this, the Federation immediately distributed phantom spirit stones to each military region while asking Old Pang to announce its use and effects publicly.

In order to make those proud Mech Builders believe unconditionally in the effects of the phantom spirit stone, Old Pang, being a level ten Mech Builder, was undoubtedly the best choice.

However when the Federation approached Old Pang with this request, he refused and recommended his disciple Yan Hao instead.

And when he refused, the only thing he said was: “My disciple, Yan Hao, is the one who will usher in the new era of mechs.”

This was also the reason why Yan Hao suddenly started the live stream today. He knew his Master’s expectations of him and also knew that he was paving the way for his future.

Moreover he also knew that as a level six Mech Builder, he couldn’t make the entire Federation believe in the effects of the phantom spirit stone with him just saying a few words like his Master could, which was why he asked Sheng Heng to pilot Rebirth and then recorded the video that had been shown just now so that the ironclad facts would dispel all doubts.
