Chapter 80.2

Editor: Jodi

“Rumble—rumble—”

Another violent tremor struck, with increasing frequency and intensity.

Then the entire Sotho venue started shaking, as if a giant creature was about to burst out from the ground.

Gu Yuanzhao’s expression was extremely cold, then in a flash of insight, he understood the Yuan family’s plan.

It seems the dozens of alien beasts outside were just a decoy. The real threat was underground, the weakest point of the entire venue’s defenses!

The ground below supported the entire structure, which in turn prevented the deployment of lethal weapons. Only a layer of defense shield was in place, likely insufficient to hold out for long.

“Evacuate the crowd with all possible speed!”

Gu Yuanzhao sent the command through his communicator, then took Bai Jing’s hand, “Ah Jing, stay close to me.”

“Boom, boom, boom—”

The impacts from below grew more frequent. Then suddenly, a grotesque snake head burst from the ground, its gaping, blood-red mouth opening 180 degrees as it lunged at the crowd!

“Ahhhh, help! Someone save me—”

The person who was closest to the alien beast was paralyzed with fear, collapsing to the ground as he screamed frantically, while the soldiers near him drew their energy guns immediately and shot at the alien beast.

The gaping maw was only a few centimeters away from the teenager when he fainted, unable to bear the terror, then he was carried away by a soldier.

Various transport robots were also deployed, swiftly carrying people out so the soldiers could concentrate on fighting the alien beasts.

However the dome in the rough stone unraveling area was too low for mechas to operate effectively, and so while killing alien beasts, Gu Yuanzhao led Bai Jing out of the venue hurriedly.

Outside, hundreds and thousands of alien beasts continued to emerge from the ground, their towering bodies blotting out the sky, their roars deafening.

The entire Sotho Star Planet’s Emporium had turned into a playground for alien beasts, as they encircled the tiny humans completely.

The people who had barely escaped the rough stone unraveling area were terrified out of their wits at the sight of the beasts outside. The soldiers herded them into nearby shelters, activating the protective shields.

Fortunately, the Major General had planned ahead, preparing high-level shields that were capable of holding over a thousand people, along with several top-tier grade six energy boxes.

With this equipment in place, they could hold out for at least a day.

**

Gu Yuanzhao activated the protective device on Bai Jing’s wrist, causing a white shield that shimmered with a soft glow to envelope him.

“Ah Jing, wait here for me. I’ll be back soon.”

Then leaving a squad of soldiers to protect Bai Jing, Gu Yuanzhao’s silver mecha soared into the sky, darting through the alien beasts at an untraceable speed. And wherever his mecha went, the miserable screams of alien beasts echoed, followed by the heavy thud of their massive bodies hitting the ground.

Bai Jing watched Gu Yuanzhao’s movements intently, his blood boiling with excitement. No matter how many times he saw it, he was always mesmerized by Gu Yuanzhao’s precise and flawless actions.

However, the alien beasts kept gathering, becoming so densely packed that there was almost no space between them.

A few of the beasts had golden glows on their foreheads, their bodies larger than the others, and as they moved, the alien beasts grouped together and launched a coordinated attack on the Imperial soldiers.

“My God, it’s a level five mutated alien beast!”

“We’re doomed, we’re done for!”

Bai Jing heard someone behind him shout out in shock, accompanied by cries of despair.

This was because the higher the level of the alien beasts, the more intelligent they became. Their metallicized exoskeletons strengthened, and their speed increased, making them much harder to deal with.

Moreover, they could command the alien beasts to launch collective attacks, acting as their leaders.

**

Several level five beasts roared skyward, and the other alien beasts followed suit. Then a swelling mental power attack radiated from them in waves, like a tsunami sweeping the area.

Bai Jing clearly saw the movements of the Imperial soldiers slow down, which in turn allowed the alien beasts to hook them with sharp claws, causing the outer shells of their mechas to crack. However fortunately, their cockpits remained intact, allowing them to continue fighting.

“Ugh, I feel so uncomfortable…”

“You, you’re bleeding!”

“My head hurts so much, it feels like it’s being torn apart!”

This mental power attack also affected the ordinary people present, however Bai Jing, with his super 3S mental power, was unaffected. He shouted to everyone, “Quick, activate your sound shielding devices!”

“Oh, right, right.”

“God Yun is really smart!”

Most of those present were business people, which meant almost everyone had a sound shielding device.

Although the mental power attack from the alien beasts was not a regular sound, the sound shielding devices couldn’t completely stop it, but the situation improved significantly.

Du Xingyu said in a deep voice, “Sis, I’m going to help Young Master Gu.”

Du Jingya nodded, suppressing her reluctance, “Alright, be careful.”

Du Xingyu summoned his white mecha, and the moment he rose into the air, someone shouted, “It’s L5’s [Flying Plumes]!”

Many had heard of L5’s [Flying Plumes], however they hadn’t expected it to belong to the Young Master of the Du family.
