Chapter 9.1

Editor: Jodi

Mu Nan and Cheng Han fell into a cold war, although this estrangement was one-sided from Mu Nan, while Cheng Han never commented on it.

After the finals, the buzz online lasted for a while, staying on the hot search topic list for an impressive week, far surpassing other talent shows.

And the biggest contributors to this result were, of course, Mu Nan and Cheng Han.

The “shocking kiss” at the start of the finale fed countless media marketing accounts, providing gossip fodder for millions of netizens. At the same time, it completely took away Mu Nan’s joy of surfing the internet.

Online discussions were rampant around this topic. Most praised the show, with compliments coming from various angles: some lauded their exceptional singing skills, saying no wonder they were the best vocalists among idols; others praised their excellent German pronunciation, a pronunciation that was clearly a result of dedicated practice; still, others commended the storyline, choreography, and their performances.

However, in the end, the conversation always circled back to that kiss.

This kiss caused the solo fans of both to fight fiercely, while the originally small and weak CP fans suddenly grew stronger, like mushrooms after a rain, unnoticed but now thriving.

[So sweet, so sweet, can you tell me whose CP has kissed?! My idols are top in their individual careers and top as a CP too!]

[That kiss was perfect, and the tension and impulsiveness that burst forth in that bite were absolutely beautiful. It was a kiss that transcended time and life itself!]

[I’m crying, I actually ship them for real!]

Seeing these comments, Mu Nan wasn’t angry. After all, idols, to some extent, were products for people’s imagination, so how others fantasized was beyond his control.

But he was puzzled. He didn’t understand how he and Cheng Han, two people who sparked intense conflict whenever they met, could be shipped so passionately by fans.

Oh, and they had even given them a CP name—Top Stream CP, a double entendre indicating that both were top in their fields and that they formed a top pair when together.

He resisted this name. Although he didn’t want to be paired with Cheng Han, if it had to happen, it should at least have a pleasant name.

Other CP names were poetic and meaningful, but his was crude and straightforward.

Frustrated, he threw his phone away and went back to sleep.

Wilder and Mu Nan had worked together for many years, so Wilder understood his rhythm very well.

Hence just as Mu Nan felt well-rested, Wilder appeared at his house with new work.

“A concert?” Mu Nan thought he had misheard, “The show is over, but I still need to go to a concert as a mentor? Haven’t they had enough hype off of us?”

“That’s why you’re a special guest. You’ll sing a solo and then collaborate with the contestants on one song.”

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Mu Nan thought seriously then said, “Then this will be for an additional fee.”

“Don’t worry.” Wilder patted the contract, “I wouldn’t let you suffer a loss.”

However just as Mu Nan moved to take the contract, he suddenly hesitated and asked, “That pervert won’t be there, right?”

Wilder knew who he was referring to: “Don’t worry, I asked before accepting this.”

Only then did Mu Nan take the contract.

Then three days later, a well-rested Mu Nan appeared at the concert rehearsal venue.

The top ten contestants from the show had formed a group named “Teness”, with Yang Yuzhu as the captain and lead singer, and Shi Tao as the vice-captain and main dancer.

Judging by this arrangement, even though Yang Yuzhu debuted in the central position and held the title of captain, Shi Tao deserved to be called the “favorite son”, because he held significant roles in both singing and dancing.

When Mu Nan arrived at their company’s practice room, they had been rehearsing for a while.

However as soon as he entered, he frowned.

The ten members were scattered, with some practicing dance steps while others chatted idly.

But even though they had been training for hours, some didn’t have a drop of sweat on their clothes.

And for some reason, seeing this scene made Mu Nan’s previously good mood plummet.

Perhaps because he was so familiar with them, having spent months recording together, Mu Nan saw these new-generation idols as his younger brothers. He had watched them struggle to pass through numerous rounds of selection, but was now seeing their hard work about to be ruined.

He couldn’t help himself and decided not to just stand by.

“You have less than a month until the performance, how are you not in sync yet?” Mu Nan said as he walked in.

The members who were resting glanced at him, but they no longer showed the respect they had during the show, and as if they were different people, they said, “Our company recently arranged other activities for us. We just joined the rehearsals and haven’t learned the moves yet.”

Hearing this excuse, Mu Nan’s anger flared.

Knowing they had fallen behind, they should be catching up, not wasting time.

“Then why aren’t you learning? The performance is coming up. If you don’t dance well, won’t you drag others down?”

However one of them explained shamelessly, “There are too many moves, so the teacher told us to record a video and learn at home.”

Mu Nan felt like rolling his eyes.

Wilder pulled him back quietly, suggesting he let it go, not wanting to offend anyone unnecessarily, but Mu Nan didn’t seem to notice as he looked at Shi Tao who had been practicing the dance moves, “Have you learned the moves?”

Shi Tao nodded with his innocent big eyes, looking very obedient.

“Show me the dance.”
