Chapter 78.3

Editor: Jodi

At the rough stone unraveling area.

The extra rough stone-cutting machines had been removed, leaving only five, with two placed at the center, specially prepared for the Yuan family and Gu Yun.

Level six rough stone gambler Zhuo Hang arrived at the first rough stone-cutting machine, placed the 320 million starcoin bidding king on the machine with the help of transport robots, then secured it carefully.

The Yuan family’s head sat behind him, squinting at the crowded scene ahead with a few hints of smugness, as if already anticipating the significant rise.

Due to the crowd, the staff set up a one-meter cordon that was guarded by imperial soldiers to prevent any incidents.

However there was a large holographic screen behind the rough stone-cutting machine which allowed people to see the rough stone-cutting process clearly without having to squeeze forward.

The Lei family’s head, standing at the forefront, glanced at the old man’s smug expression and sneered, “Hmph, a little man getting his way.”

This sentence caused the eyes of Yan Ji who was standing next to him to flash with displeasure, however he hid it quickly.

The Du siblings were also standing near the cordon, looking relaxed, as if they were just tourists on Sotho Star Planet.

Du Jingya asked her brother Du Xingyu quietly, “Who did you bet on?

Du Xingyu didn’t answer directly but asked in return, “What about you, sister? Who did you bet on?”

Du Jingya glanced at the head of the Yuan family and scoffed lightly, “Isn’t it obvious?”

Du Xingyu raised a brow, “Then I’ll go with the same as you.”

Smiling, Du Jingya patted his shoulder, “Good boy, you’ve got a keen eye.”

At 1 PM, Bai Jing arrived at the second rough stone-cutting machine, with the Imperial Major General following behind him.

He glanced at the head of the Yuan family, the corner of his lips curling up as he made a ‘please, after you’ gesture.

The old man’s eyes flashed with a sharp light as he gave Bai Jing a scrutinizing look that felt quite unsettling, then said to the level six rough stone gambler Zhuo Hang, “Begin.”

Zhuo Hang nodded, then began examining the rough stone carefully.

Meanwhile dozens of live broadcast spheres hovered around him, capturing every angle without missing a single detail, presenting the bidding king in all its perfection from the clearest of perspectives.

This year’s bidding king at the Sotho Star Planet’s Emporium was an authentic Thanaka skin rough stone.

Its color resembled that of a yellow sand skin rough stone, however the sand on its surface was very fine, akin to the bark of a Thanaka tree, with distinct patterns.

This name originated from ancient Earth and had been carried on through the interstellar era.

Thanaka skin rough stones were widely recognized for their excellent quality in texture, water, and color, with a high color yield and a strong likelihood of them being significant rise in bets. More than half of the past bidding kings had come from rough stones with this type of skin.

This rough stone was slightly larger than two basketballs placed side by side, weighed 72.8 kilograms, and was shaped as a somewhat flattened oval that lay horizontally on the rough stone-cutting machine.

It had two gray-white python belts running through it from front to back on its surface and was surrounded by patches of bright green pine flowers. What’s more the complete color bands indicated that it was an exceptionally good material.

Most importantly, both sides of this rough stone had already been polished to reveal openings the size of a baby’s fist.

—-The left side revealed apple green jadeite of the glass variety, while the right side showed full green jadeite of the glass variety—rare double openings, both being jadeites of the glass variety!

This indicated a high likelihood that the entire rough stone was filled with jadeite, and considering that both sides were high-green jadeite of the glass variety, the total value was certainly over 400 million!

[Wow, this is the bidding king—]

[I’ve seen the windows, both openings are jadeite of the glass variety, amazing!]

[Are they going to start unraveling the rough stone now?]

[This is really rare, so exciting!]

[Indeed, this happens only once in ten years.]

[320 million starcoins, whew, that amount could last me several lifetimes!]

[This is the world of the elites, we ordinary folks can only look up in awe.]

[I bet on the Yuan family, the bidding king is definitely going to be a big rise in bet!]

Zhuo Hang’s expression was very serious as he examined the python belts and pine flowers on the surface inch by inch. He took a full ten minutes before he started to grind the rough stone with the abrasive wheel.

Although he was an experienced senior rough stone gambler, this was the first time he was personally unraveling a bidding king worth billions, so he had to be extraordinarily cautious.

If he damaged even a tiny bit of this high-green jadeite of the glass variety, it would result in a loss of tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of starcoins. He couldn’t afford to make any mistakes!

So adjusting the abrasive wheel to the smallest setting, he ground around the left window carefully, adjusting the angle and pressure based on the feel, occasionally rinsing the debris and sand away to avoid obstructing his view.

About twenty minutes later, he had ground about two inches deep into the opening, revealing jadeite that was still uniformly apple green of the glass variety—clearly, the value was increasing!

[As expected of the bidding king!]

[Ahem, this is a bit different from what I imagined. It’s kind of boring.]

[Sister upstairs, are you used to watching God Yun unravel rough stones?]

[Haha, me too.]

[At this rate, how long will it take?]

[If it were God Yun, it would have been done by now!]

[What do you guys know? This is a 320 million bidding king— even Gu Yun would take his time!]

[You don’t understand. God Yun would cut right through high-green imperial glass jadeite!]

[What? High-green imperial glass jadeite, how is that possible?!]

[Ha, see for yourself. Gif.jpg.]

Then seeing that the person didn’t appear again, Gu Yun’s fans scoffed disdainfully.

During the previous rough stone gambling match, even when top-grade high-green jadeite of the imperial glass variety had been unraveled, God Yun had still cut it out with a few strokes. The thrill of that experience was unforgettable.

Only God Yun could bring them such a shock.

Therefore, they would always support God Yun!
