Chapter 40.2

Editor: Jodi

While Tang Zhou was lost in thought, Fu Shen who had finished showering opened the door of the bathroom.

Then looking up and seeing Tang Zhou, he paused for a moment, then walked over naturally.

“What’s wrong?”

Tang Zhou had originally kept his head down, but looked up when he heard his voice, and facing the handsome man in front of him, his fair face turned pink immediately.

“Why aren’t you wearing clothes!”

Fu Shen looked innocent, pointing to his pants, “I am wearing them.”

“I mean the top.”

Fu Shen chuckled softly, “It’s hot wearing it.”

“There’s air conditioning.”

“The bathroom is stuffy, so I wanted to come out earlier.” He couldn’t be bothered to wear too much.

Plus, it was in his own room, so there was no need to dress up.

But seeing Tang Zhou blushing and not daring to look at him, he obediently took a shirt and put it on, covering his beautiful muscles.

“Is something wrong?” He sat on the edge of the bed and facing Tang Zhou, asked again.

Tang Zhou got up, making way, “You just got a message, take a look first.”

Fu Shen glanced at the blinking avatar, assessed Tang Zhou’s expression secretly, then walked to the chair and sat down, grabbing Tang Zhou’s wrist, “Don’t leave yet.”

Tang Zhou didn’t break free, “What’s up?”

Reaching his long arm out, Fu Shen hugged his waist from behind and somehow, Tang Zhou’s body softening, he fell straight into his arms, then ended up sitting on Fu Shen’s lap.

Tang Zhou: !!!

Fu Shen hugged him from behind, his chin resting on Tang Zhou’s shoulder as he laughed lightly, “Let me hold you for a while.”

Tang Zhou squirmed a bit to resist.

“Don’t move.” Fu Shen held his hand, his voice suddenly low and hoarse, “Wait until I finish reading the message.”

And saying this, he reached out to click the mouse.

Tang Zhou squirmed awkwardly, “You read yours, I’m going back.”

Fu Shen opened the chat window, and the words inside suddenly appeared in front of Tang Zhou.

He saw the friend’s name displayed in the chat box, however it wasn’t “Mouse Loves Rice”, but “Mi Shu”.

His mind was in a whirl.

Tang Zhou hesitated, “Technician Mi?”

Fu Shen leaned close to his ear, sniffed, then murmured an “En” vaguely.

Tang Zhou looked at the chat again.

Fu Shen: Help me check all the construction projects of Longxin Real Estate.

Longxin Real Estate. Wasn’t that the real estate company of Tang Tianyang’s uncle?

Mi Shu: All the information is here.

Mi Shu: I also found something interesting, do you want to know?

The last sentence had been sent just now.

Fu Shen was hugging Tang Zhou, so it was inconvenient for him to type, “Help me send a message, hmm?”

His voice was low and hoarse, making Tang Zhou’s heart skip a beat, and before his brain could react, his hand was already on the keyboard.

“What message?”

Fu Shen’s arms around him tightened, his deep and mysterious eyes staring at Tang Zhou’s fair ear and rosy lips.

“Do you think I should ask for it?”

Tang Zhou’s ears twitched sensitively, “If you want it, then ask for it.”

“I want it.”

They were clearly three ordinary words, but when spoken from his mouth, they carried a seductive tone.

Tang Zhou typed a single word: Yes.

Mi Shu: Use favors in exchange.

Tang Zhou asked curiously, “What favors?”

Fu Shen half-closed his eyes, “I helped him before, and as a thank you, he said he could do three things for me.”

Because “detective” was Mi Shu’s specialty, Fu Shen didn’t count asking him to investigate as one of those favors.

Tang Zhou asked, “How many favors do you have left now?”

“Two.”

“Does his employment count as one?” Tang Zhou asked keenly.

“En.” Fu Shen pinched the kitten doll on Tang Zhou’s leg, “Baby is really smart.”

Tang Zhou’s cheeks flushed, “So, are you going to cash in this time?”

“Don’t mind him, he’s always trying to exchange favors whenever he can.”

“Aren’t you curious about the interesting thing he mentioned?”

Fu Shen lowered his gaze, “Tang Tianyang’s uncle isn’t worth it.”

Tang Zhou was surprised, “You know?!”

“I know.” Fu Shen said seriously, “On the way back, I asked Mi Shu to help me check. The legal person of Longxin Real Estate is Tang Tianyang’s uncle. But behind Longxin is Tang Zhen.”

Tang Zhou pursed his lips in silence.

Fu Shen whispered gently, “I also know there’s a ‘1Lei Feng‘ who does good deeds without leaving a name. He clearly helped me so much, but didn’t say anything.”

“What else do you know?” Tang Zhou shot him a side glance.

Every move he made was under someone else’s scrutiny, making Tang Zhou feel somewhat uneasy, but because it was Fu Shen, he endured it.

Fu Shen hugged him tighter, “I’ll tell you, but don’t be angry.”

“You tell me first, then I’ll know whether to be angry or not.”

Fu Shen smiled wryly, “Then I don’t dare tell you.”

Tang Zhou told him, “I’ll go find Mi Shu.”

“I’m afraid you’ll be angry.” Fu Shen pleaded softly, “I’m really afraid.”

Tang Zhou: “….”

Seeing a different side of Fu Shen, him being so coquettish and cute, was really a novelty.

And so fresh!

He deliberately kept a straight face, “I’ll be even angrier if you don’t tell me.”

Fu Shen had no choice but to lean closer to his ear and whisper something.

Tang Zhou was so startled that he almost jumped up, but Fu Shen held him firmly in his lap.

He stared at Fu Shen for a while before asking dejectedly, “You’re not angry that Mi Shu and I investigated you?”

Fu Shen chuckled, “I also investigated you both, so it evens out.”

Oh, that’s right.

Tang Zhou fell silent for a moment, “Why did you tell me all this?”

Fu Shen said seriously, “I want you to understand me better.”

He sighed, “When I was alone in Long City, knowing that there was someone miles away thinking of me, caring for me, and solving troubles that I should’ve handled myself, you don’t know how happy I was.”

“I’m happy that you worry about me, but I also feel distressed that I make you bother with those things.”

Tang Zhou wanted to say he was willing, but Fu Shen cut him off.

“Baby, you want to protect me, and I want to protect you too.”

Tang Zhou looked at him blankly, thinking to himself: You’ve already protected me in the dream.

If it weren’t for Fu Shen, Tang Zhou didn’t know how he would be in that dream.

Taking his hand, Fu Shen placed a kiss on it, one that was as light as a feather.

“I just want you to be happy.”

He really didn’t want Tang Zhou to have any meaningful involvement with the Tang family anymore. Every member of the Tang family would turn his sweet porridge into bitter porridge.

He couldn’t bear it.

Tang Zhou understood the deep meaning buried in his eyes and felt as if his whole heart was enveloped in surging syrup.

No one in the Tang family genuinely cared for him; it was either exploitation or disgust.

Only this person in front of him accepted him unconditionally and cared for him.

Fu Shen said he was his only hope.

And in Tang Zhou’s heart, Fu Shen was equally the only one.
