Chapter 110.2

Editor: Jodi

Xia Qingwan was wearing a traditional cheongsam, her hair tied up with white strands mixed in, pinned up with a hairpin at the back of her head, and a maroon shawl draped over her arm, exuding an elegant demeanor.

When they saw her at the airport, Lu Jizhen gathered her spirits, then went forward to speak.

While Liu Jingyuan walked over with their children.

Xia Qingwan handed her luggage to her entourage, then said to Lu Jizhen and the rest, “Let’s go, we’re going back.”

After resting quietly abroad for a few years, Xia Qingwan was now in good health and didn’t need assistance getting in or out of the car.

When they arrived at the Liu family’s Old Mansion, the car stopped gradually at the entrance, then she looked out through the window and saw the Li family’s child leaning against Bohuai, swinging his hand in a leisurely manner, however the moment he saw the car coming, he stood up straight hurriedly and let go.

And turning his head, Bohuai reached for him, only to be slapped away.

The corners of Xia Qingwan’s lips rose up. This child was shy.

After getting off the car, Xia Qingwan heard Lu Jizhen say in dissatisfaction. “This is a family gathering, why is Li Qingzhou also here…” Such an eyesore.

Xia Qingwan responded lightly, “I invited this child here. Since he is Bohuai’s lover, he is family from now on, so what’s the problem with him being here?”

She understood the rivalry between the Li Group and the Lu Group because of the holographic games, so she naturally understood why Lu Jizhen didn’t like Li Qingzhou.

Lu Jizhen’s expression soured, however she didn’t say anything else.

Liu Xiahui had been standing not far from Third Master Liu and Li Qingzhou all this time, and now, seeing Xia Qingwan getting out off the car, he walked over to her.

“Auntie.” Li Qingzhou walked forward.

He was wearing a very vibrant outfit today, and with his exoskeleton device for support, he stood tall.

[Nervous…]

The little guy in the bubble squeezed his fingers anxiously.

Xia Qingwan smiled, took his hand, patted it, and said, “Good boy, let’s go inside.”

No matter what, they had once chatted briefly on video, so after just a few words from Xia Qingwan, Li Qingzhou also relaxed and walked ahead, led by Xia Qingwan.

Liu Bohuai and the rest lagged behind a few steps.

Liu Jingyuan whispered to Liu Bohuai, “Do you know why Mom suddenly came back from abroad?”

Liu Bohuai glanced at him and asked, “What does Second Brother think it is about?”

Liu Jingyuan froze, feeling unsure about what Liu Bohuai meant by that question.

He hesitated, then said, “How would I know…”

After a while, they all sat down in the living room, and the old butler served tea before leaving.

Xia Qingwan had always been swift and decisive since she was young, and now was no different as she cut straight to the chase once seated.

She asked Liu Jingyuan, “Do you still remember when your father asked you before he passed away if you had any complaints about handing over the Liu family to Bohuai?”

“Jingyuan, how did you answer?”

Li Qingzhou had just finished drinking from his teacup when he heard this, causing him to be unsure whether to put it down or keep holding it for now, as the atmosphere made him hesitate to ‘act rashly’.

So Ah Huai’s mother is bringing this up now? Is it really about that matter…

Liu Jingyuan’s lips stiffened. “Mom, why bring up this matter suddenly?”

Lu Jizhen turned her head. At that time, her husband had been called in for a private conversation by her parents-in-law, and she only found out later.

Otherwise, she would have made Liu Jingyuan change his statement – power was obtained through struggle, not concession.

Xia Qingwan continued, “You said you had no complaints, and that Bohuai’s abilities are superior to yours, so it’s natural for him to take over the Liu family.”

“And that as his second brother, you would also support him.”

“Your father asked you many times, but you kept on giving him the same response.”

“So we thought you really believed that, but now it seems that you still harbor resentment…”

Liu Jingyuan’s face darkened as he muttered, “Just because I’m not capable enough, Dad passed over me and handed the Liu family to Bohuai…”

“If I had said I had complaints back then, that I also wanted the Liu family, would Dad have really given it to me?!”

No, Dad wouldn’t have.

So, at that time, how could he have really expressed his thoughts?

Xia Qingwan sighed. “Back then, if you had said you also wanted the Liu family, your dad wouldn’t have agreed.”

Liu Jingyuan sneered at her words. Sure enough.

But then he heard her continue, “But your dad and I would have told you a truth, about… your origins.”

This sentence made Liu Jingyuan’s heart skip a beat.

He suddenly looked up, staring at her directly. “What do you mean by that?! Mom, what do you mean by my origins?!”

Lu Jizhen’s expression also changed, and Liu Yuecheng and Liu Yunfei exchanged a glance.

Liu Xiahui, who had been indifferent, frowned and looked over.

And Li Qingzhou, leaning against Liu Bohuai, found a comfortable position—here comes the must-see dog blood life experience drama from the ancient times.

Turning around, Xia Qingwan took a birth certificate and two paternity test reports out from her bag then said, “Do you remember your dad’s sister who passed away early? You two used to visit her grave when you were kids.”

“Your dad’s sister fell in love with a poor boy from a remote mountain area when she was in university. Your grandfather disagreed with them being together and separated them forcefully.”

“But that kid ran away, went on hunger strikes, attempted suicide, and even eloped twice, but your grandfather caught them both times.”

“However nothing worked. She just wanted to be with that poor boy.”

“Your grandfather was furious and said if she left again, she shouldn’t bother coming back ever, and he disowned her.”

“That kid was also really stubborn. She disregarded everything for love, really eloped again, and from then on, there was no news of her.”

“Until your grandfather received a letter…”

Xia Qingwan placed the three documents on the coffee table and pushed them towards Liu Jingyuan, continuing, “That kid wrote in the letter that she was sick, didn’t have long to live, and that she hoped to see her family for the last time.”

“Your grandfather and your dad went to the address in the letter and found out she wasn’t doing well at all, being tormented by her husband, despised by her in-laws…”

“She couldn’t leave that remote place because the whole village would stop her.”

“It wasn’t until she gave birth to a baby boy that she was able to stay in a hospital that she sent a letter secretly.”

“However when your grandfather and your dad arrived, she didn’t have much strength and passed away after seeing her family and leaving her last words.”

“Her last wish was for the child to not take his father’s surname and to never stay in that place.”

“Later, the child was brought back.”

“Your grandfather decided to register this child under your dad’s name.”

“At that time, Zhouhe had already been born, so this baby became my second child…”

Li Qingzhou took a sighing sip from the teacup he was holding.

He looked at Liu Jingyuan’s stiff and blank face, then at his wife and children’s expressions—it was as if they were all wearing the same shocked and speechless mask, none of them knowing how to react.

“No, this can’t be true…” Liu Jingyuan muttered after a while.

Xia Qingwan: “Jingyuan, mom doesn’t need to lie to you.”

She sighed again and said, “In life, you can’t have everything.”

“You don’t have the ability to manage the Liu family. Even if you were really our biological child, your dad wouldn’t have handed the Liu family over to you.”

“Jingyuan, do you really think no one has noticed what you two are doing overseas? Is it that you’re planning to take over the Liu family after gaining power from the Lu Group?”

This statement was like a thunderbolt, instantly exploding in Liu Jingyuan and Lu Jizhen’s ears, causing them to suddenly tense up.

Liu Bohuai had inherited Xia Qingwan’s looks.

At this moment, Xia Qingwan’s gaze turned sharp, making Liu Jizhen and the others not dare meet her eyes.

Xia Qingwan continued, “I don’t care whose decision it is between the two of you, but reaching too far will get your hands cut off.”

She looked at Lu Jizhen, her tone majestic and unquestionable as she said, “I don’t care how you want to deal with the Lu family, but the Liu family isn’t something you can covet, and you aren’t qualified to think about it.”

“This is my last tolerance, otherwise… I will let you understand the means I used when I was young. Got it, Jizhen?”

Xia Qingwan’s words were merciless, almost trampling on Lu Jizhen’s dignity.

Lu Jizhen’s face turning pale, she nodded, her voice dry as she said, “I understand.”

  1. Ah, i like the showdown, but I dislike the whole not biological child and your father was a poor man who mistreated his wife part. It reeks a bit too much of classism to me when the consequences would’ve been the same had he been legitimate, or if both his parents had been rich and died in childbirth somehow. Our main couple is endearing as always tho 😊
