Chapter 24.2

Editor: Jodi

There was so much more homework in junior high than in primary school that there was no time to fool around. Ning Sheng had to allocate time every evening to complete the day’s assignments.

In order to not lead Xu Ling astray, he didn’t copy answers anymore. Whatever needed to be written, he would complete himself diligently.

Before he could write a few words, Ning Sheng’s phone screen lit up with their group chat—

[AAA Premium Piglet Wholesale]: Princess, you bought pigs again?

[Ning]: Grandma likes them.

[Math is so great, I love math]: I want 2.7 pounds of dumpling filling too.

[AAA Premium Piglet Wholesale]: I feel like today’s pigs are average, I’ll deliver them to you after school tomorrow.

[Ning]: Okay, we want perfect pigs.

“You’re also looking at the education of the pigs?” Xu Ling who was on the side interjected, “The kinds that taste better because they’ve been educated?”

“With some more flower arranging skills, they’ll be even tastier.” Ning Sheng replied without turning his head.

Xu Ling: “……”

Ning Sheng: “Go write your homework.”

“I finished it early.” Xu Ling spread his homework out for Ning Sheng to see.

Ning Sheng: “Hmm?”

“I did it during afternoon class.” Xu Ling told him, “You looked so peaceful sleeping at that time.”

“Math class is so boring.” Ning Sheng retorted, “Who schedules math class in the afternoon!”

Ning Sheng: “What’s the point of learning all that? Are you going to use geometry to calculate money at the car wash?”

Xu Ling: “……”

“Copy, hurry up and copy.” Xu Ling pushed his homework over.

“I can write it myself, don’t underestimate me!” Ning Sheng said.

Xu Ling slapped the book onto his face then took a deep breath.

“What was the slap for?” Ning Sheng asked, “Am I bothering you?”

Xu Ling: “I don’t dare 1I think this is like, ‘I don’t dare be bothered.

Ning Sheng: “I can’t help it even if you think this way, because I’m going to be bothering you, so just endure it.”

I’m still counting on you to take me higher.

“Hurry and write, and when you’re done, I’ll teach you how to fight.” Xu Ling told him.

“We civilized people don’t learn to fight.” Ning Sheng said haughtily.

Xu Ling: “You civilised people beat Lu Peng in broad daylight at the basketball court this afternoon after pinning him to the ground.”

“Isn’t it because you cavemen were wrong!” Ning Sheng retorted.

**

Ning Sheng couldn’t be bothered to move, but Xu Ling was evidently persistent in this regard. In the past, he had put in a lot of effort to teach him how to walk and now, he was determined to teach him how to fight.

“I won’t learn.” He was effortlessly toppled onto the soft carpet by Xu Ling, pinned down so he couldn’t move.

“If I wave my hand, a whole team of bodyguards will come to protect me.”

“What if the bodyguards make a mistake?” Xu Ling asked him.

“Those kinds of people will be fired by me.” Ning Sheng answered him.

He had fired one before he was reborn.

“You protect me.” Ning Sheng said, “Didn’t you say you’d be my dog? Other people’s dogs protect their owners.”

Xu Ling paused, then said, “Okay.”

Ning Sheng stretched out on the carpet, still catching his breath, when Xu Ling lifted him up from the ground.

Xu Ling: “Again.”

Ning Sheng: “? Didn’t you say you would protect me?”

“That’s two different things.” Xu Ling said as he kicked towards him.

In the night, after finishing his nightly routine, Ning Sheng lay on the bed, feeling like they had emptied each other out.

“You don’t want to teach me to fight.” He told Xu Ling. “You’re just trying to take the opportunity to vent your frustration on me.”

“If I really wanted to vent, you would be dead. Do you see any wounds on you?” Xu Ling retorted.

Ning Sheng: “I don’t know, I’ll have to check.”

Xu Ling: “……”

Standing in front of the mirror, Ning Sheng lifted his nightshirt, revealing a narrow and slender waist. He checked his body bit by bit, then finally found a small fingerprint on his waist.

Ning Sheng: “Found one.”

Xu Ling didn’t move, he just watched him.

Ning Sheng: “I said I found one, can’t you hear me?”

“I’m waiting.” Xu Ling told him.

Ning Sheng: “Waiting for what?”

Xu Ling: “I feel like if I wait another half a minute, it’ll disappear.”

“Get lost.” Ning Sheng threw the pillow at him.

Xu Ling caught it with a smile.

“It was clearly you yourself who was about to fall just now and I gave you a hand.” Xu Ling said, “And this is how you repay me?”

“Just don’t repay me with resentment.” Ning Sheng reminded him specifically.

“I’m going back.” Xu Ling looked at the time and started tidying up the homework on the table.

“Why are you leaving?” Ning Sheng was puzzled, “Aren’t we sleeping together?”

“We’re already in junior high and we’re still sleeping together? Haven’t you been weaned?” Xu Ling asked him.

Ning Sheng: “You’ve been weaned. No more yogurt for you in the future.”

Xu Ling: “……”

“What’s all the noise about?” Ning Sheng’s grandmother knocked on the door. “I can hear you two shouting from outside.”

Ning Sheng: “It was him who was shouting.”

Xu Ling: “Did you see me open my mouth?”

“Little Bell, don’t worry.” Ning Sheng’s grandmother told him, “I just had Ning Ning’s bed changed today. The new bed is very big, so you don’t have to worry about squeezing him at night.”

Xu Ling was ecstatic. “Great, then I’ll go take a shower.”

Ning Sheng: “Hmm?”

Was Xu Ling leaving because he was afraid of him squeezing him? He almost fell out of bed a few nights ago when Xu Ling kicked him in his sleep.

People who were raised were much more considerate than the ones not raised.

“I’ll have your bed changed to a big one too.” Ning Sheng declared generously.
